THE END OF ONAN
He spilled his seed
doing the deed,
not let if flow
where it should go -
into the wife
he took for life
and make a heir
for late brother.
He was struck dead
(while still in bed?)
condemning wife
to widowed life.

Chapter 13 Inner Struggle in the Church Pew
Chapter 13 Inner Struggle in the Church Pew
“When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures…” Galatians 5:19
As Brittney heard the scripture read, she felt a whirlwind of shock, guilt, and fear. As the pastor continued, she couldn't shake the feeling that the message was directed straight at her, exposing her deepest secrets and desires for all to see.
The mention of "sinful nature" and the consequences of following it sent a flush of embarrassment creeping up her...

Double Cross
Disturb my fragile sensibility
Disrupt the expectations of my wanting
When I chase temporal things to a fault
I fall pray in my humility to the Holy Ghost haunting
Answering the warning signs with replies of faith imbued by the call
What if there is something to it
When we dismiss the claims for broken records on repeat
Discerning truth amid the chaos of another’s source of vain conceit
The word is alive and I’m dead to rights
When I live subject to something divine
Shadows cast of unseen lights
The end doesn’t answer to my...

Speak your narrative
Following in patterns of sensationalized sign language
Make it say what you want it to
When everybody’s sky is falling
Seasons of our relative apocalyptic delusions
I won’t doubt a wonder but I’ll call it what it is
Stretch the facts into the mold of what you want to see
What speaks to you may not say a word to me
But it’s “your truth”, it’s your cypher, it’s your “prophecy”
Loose translations, contorted interpretations
Twist the words just right to harbor the impact
Looking for incidental events ...

Wise Words From The Wild
Wise Words From The Wild
Free your will, and let your feel guide you to where
you initially belong, Dust and Water and the Spirit between,
Where man is homo sapiens born, where wise thoughts, feelings
and genuine creation takes its heavenly roots.
Be wise and relieve a clogged brain besieged by mundane
satisfaction, by bewildering intoxication, by echoless walls.
Be wise and rub those emotionless eyes, and start to see,
and come up to hear the waltz of the winds and songs of Springs
the tango of...

Chapter 7 Time for Reflection
Chapter 7 Time for Reflection
“All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall."
Brittney remembered the scripture reference included with the note her mother gave her with a silver cross. She'd been puzzled by it but now thought it must have predicted her conversation with David about death that would occur 9 years after she received her mother's cross.
May the flowers of your faithfulness color your world.
Wear this cross to remind you of your obligations of ...

In The Crossroads
Between the pines, the pathway ascends
The trail of sheep, goats and grazing bands
They pass, lowering heads, no bleat heard
Guided by strict orders, by stark shepherds
I watched the sheep cortege as it did quietly glide
Into the vast pastures, in such a flowing smooth tide
And so i hide among the trees, a watchful eye
They obey the inner feel onto whereon they lie
Still they are sheep, goats and rams,a clique
Taken blissfully or driven blindly, unto the hills
They know the route they must always take ...

Taken blissfully or driven blindly, unto the hills
They know the route they must always take ...

Betrayal
The Day I returned
Awakened
Harmony divided
In my faith
Past memories
God is who I hate
Searching the betrayal
Shadows of light
Silent Tomorrow's
Endless night's

I don't see the face of God here...
All faith is false and all truth is faith
as if a mirror exploded and each one
chose a sliver to be his entire mirror.
as if a mirror exploded and each one
chose a sliver to be his entire mirror.

An Exorcism
We waited until he came home
and tied him to a chair.
We knew what had been going on,
and weren’t afraid to tell him so.
He said he didn’t know
what we were talking about
and I, I must confess, faltered
a moment on seeing him so scared,
our 16-year-old son. But we held firm
in faith and carried on, we knew
he wasn’t like the other boys,
and hadn’t been since 12 or thereabouts.
The moonlight came in slats
between the bars
of our cellar windows, high up and rectangular,
like heaven’s watchers keeping time.
I...

Making Love on Easter Morning
I held you close, and would not release until
you led me with velvet hands to the chamber
given by your mother where you were conceived..
The curtains of your chamber were parted
like a new bloom for my delight.
See how it glistens with the same morning dew
shared by all women of Mother Earth.
I tasted you and knew our Creator was good.
you led me with velvet hands to the chamber
given by your mother where you were conceived..
The curtains of your chamber were parted
like a new bloom for my delight.
See how it glistens with the same morning dew
shared by all women of Mother Earth.
I tasted you and knew our Creator was good.

Do Not Cry
When it's time for me to leave...
For my body do not grieve...
My soul has been lifted to the Heaven's on high...
So for my body do not cry...
For my body do not grieve...
My soul has been lifted to the Heaven's on high...
So for my body do not cry...
