MAN CREATED GOD
God didn’t create man, man created god?
Is there an omnipotent one?
Or does the human race have such a need for answers, and to be wanted, that it can create new worlds and ideas that shape our lives today or are these worlds so real we cant escape them?
Well what is the answer? Answers are just excuses.
No one really knows true answers, scientists believe they have all the answers, they speak and we believe all they have to do is wrap up a problem with numbers and calculations they call it an answer but all it is, is a theory of what they want to believe they do...

Evil
You lied approximately your capability
you exaggerate our possibility
are you ignorant of culpability
or exempt through verbal affinity
chaos you can not bypass
or moot mortal bias
whirlwind incarnate genius
tempered tempests pious
pleasure to be desired
character now no longer required
curiosities uninspired
hopefulness retired
fact hits with a clause
assist sharpen lucifers claws
its okay, i dont ruin laws
Lord shield me, O Holy Cross
They recognize now no longer what they do

Leftovers
They were only half dead,
infected by bark beetles.
Together they gathered
like zombies,
a riverside cluster
torn and dismembered
shuffled to a random array.
Each day someone walks past
they ignore the un-miraculous,
avoid the dark exterior
no one wants to be bitten.
I need the bite
offering a throat
to be ripped out
I embrace the group,
take my place
but all I find is their grace
as we feed on the last supper. ...

A Pained Heathen's Prayer
11:11, let me say a prayer
Father, I hope you're here...
Forgive me my doubt-
I could never be sure.
Bless the damned and
Have mercy on a poor soul
Genuflecting on a hungry stomach.
Curses unto the heathens
Wait- all but myself.
Father my plea- free me
Free your child from treachery.
Blessed are my cries
That sometimes bring me comfort
When I'm devoid of all else.
11:12, Amen

The West Borough of Eden
Some years ago
when Westboro
was all the rage
in documentary
I watched one with
my mum,
and ever since
Fred Phelps has been
a fascinating man to me,
him and his twisted family.
The loving rictus on
his grandchild’s face as she -
a girl in her late teens, I think -
raked leaves in the yard
and tried to convince the BBC
with a smile that must
have been painful
that she was happy there.
The little boy holding a sign
incredibly vulgar,
a sign describing anal sex,
pelted with a...

The Native Thing
there was a time and place
where priests of Catholic bent,
from France, would try
to baptise Native kids,
although of course the Native heart
rebelled and called it blasphemy,
just in their Native tongue.
the priests would then seek other forms
of ritual and with a wet sponge up
their sleeves
would glisten baby heads
and mumble rosary.
a wicked thing, perhaps,
to deny a tribe their tribal rights.
but in their hearts, the priests,
there a was Native thing as well:
the flame of love -

Hammer on Hammer of the Witches
Section I (Inquisition & Confessions)
‘we ask all the questions here, more concerned
with what the devil does, than reading our holy text
we’ll even refer to a book, based on prolific imagination
so complex , it will make poor simple people vexed
and sign the papers off, licensing our deviation
for the gain of your estate, and plunder of possessions
after wholesale extirpation’

Witch of Lorraine -Pt1&2
The Peasant Girl (Part I)
Young peasant girl you were
From the greenest fields you came
Out of the stone and wicker village
Emerged the Maiden of Lorraine
Gathering wolves caste forest circle
With eyes of moons and fur of flame
Attended by her guardians
Soldiers destined for campaign
The Damsel (Part II)
Flowing damsel hair
The grail that knights would kiss
And the people of the land
With their outstretched hands
Would touch
and make their simple wish
Girl ever dreaming ...

THE THORNY PRAYERS OF LAMBS
never needed
jesus
though that
ain't what i was told
and lord knows
i lingered
at the edge of
his water
and seen him
beat down
and strung up
but, lord,
i never asked
and wouldn't of
had i seen
what they
would do
and all you
ever done
was kindness
and ain't
it just the way
when you
try so hard
but fate
lays its eye upon you
and you see your truth
plain as the sky is blue
and ain't nothing
pleasant in it
but you...

Golgotha’s Hill
Breaking bread on the last night to say farewell
A King descended from on high to be brought into the depths of hell
For the love of a world that from paradise fell
Savior pendant to the cross, wedges in wrist bearing the nail
Reflecting once again on the sacrifice of Emmanuel
And on your last night you washed my feet just before betrayal
Lips pursed to cheek, a kiss like a knife in the back
Taking on the stripes as thorn penetrates the brow
Grace given for everything that I lack
Even in my words to speak of this blood washed vow ...

PRAYERS ON THE TIN ROOF OF HEAVEN
prayers
are like rain
to god
so it's no wonder
he doesn't hear
many particulars
but just stands
at the window
listening to them
hit the roof
and watching them
puddle in the drive
and wash that part of the yard
where grass won't grow
and he wonders if the
roof is still leaking
and thinks he might
pull the ladder down
and check the attic
but, hell, he's so tired
and the rafters
will still be wet
with the want
and desperation
of 7.9 billion
some odd souls
if...
