I am interested in avatars. There are several poets with no pictures on here and that is their decision. But, if there was an opportunity to select an avatar to put in place of a personal pic to express yourself for the day, I think poets would likely use them.

That sounds a bit too much like emojis and a situation where avatars and emotions are openly displayed as constantly changing and altogether lose value. It sounds like a good idea in principle though, perhaps if there was a pool of stock avatars members could use for the profile that might be a thing.
Yet that then provides anonymity, and has a lack of clear self identity: hardly going to stand out if a dozen other members are using the same avatar.
It also seems to come with the idea that an image can express you for the day, which sort of stands at odds with being a poet and being of words. That as a poet, or an artist of any type, words and images have extensive meaning and use; not just here it is and that is all there is to it.
Those are my thoughts and feelings so far. I would be interested to hear what others have to say on this matter.

I agree, Viddax. I think I poet should stand out with their words not necessarily an image.

An image is good...as it gives one an idea of how the writer looks like, be it the real face or how they want to be seen or the emotions for the moment. But I agree with Hades, a poet should stand out because of the work and not of the face/avatar.

Whatever my avatar shows at the time whenever that is, that's my expression until it changes again.

I definitely appreciate the comments and opinions, I actually agree with all points. In the eyes of the beholder it is just to have an option. Thanks y'all.

My choice was this or the tight pink butthole of a porn star.
Either way, I come off as a bleached asshole.
