Love isn't Wine

Love is much too coarse and
Bitter on the tongue
It is a shock to the system
The longer it lasts the sweeter
Oh, love fucks us up
So much higher in content
Some curse and cough
Jump up and down, shaken
At that first exposure
It is so exciting the first go
Our faces warm softly
Your mouth tingles so slightly
Oh, how it can be sweet
A few sips in and the small things
Show up and cause a scene
The sweetness suddenly easy to find
Love makes your eyes water
And some say it tastes better cold
Though there are those that prefer hot
Ah, love is complex and sharp
And wine tastes too much of rot
Love is the sunshine gleam
Of wheat and rye in the sunshine
Of dust glittering on sunbeams
Of dark barrels and the weather
Hot, warm days, and  cold, bitterly cold ones
Seasons and seasons go by and by
The stronger it is the more we crave
In smaller amounts, too much
Can kill you ever so sweetly
Slowly and over time, that's love
And love can be found in a bottle
Love can be found in whiskey
