The Wayback
The clock is ticking so there is no time to argue or dispute
The doors will close soon so I’m trying to enjoy every minute
I’ve become more aware of things that are even so minute
Appreciating and understanding that poetry has no limit
In retrospect, in all the years we’ve spent on this airship
We’ve been able to view and read a myriad of stars
We crafted and created compositions and friendships
That carried a diversity of verses, prose and mad bars
The wayback is a device that archives our lives and times

Over the Mon
I’m absolutely over the mo⁰n for her
The way she looks at me she makes me smi)e
And though time flies by quickly all around us
My heart is happy I got to see my grandchild
Luna makes me wonder about who she’ll be
Which roads she’ll take to reach her destination
What she’ll discover about herself in her journey
Where she will find her fire and motivation
Moonshine’s eyes are like the stars in the sky
They make you wonder how far she’ll go
Because the future belongs to her, to them
The promising hopeful generation of...

Empathy
What the world needs more of lately is empathy
Empathy for those who are struggling or have less
For those that are facing troubles and adversity
For those who have been ostracized and suppressed
Empathy for people with mental health struggles
Ranging from depression, anxiety and PTSD
Empathy for those with neurodivergent challenges
Varying from dyslexia, autism to ADHD

The Nostalgic Nightingale
Perched on a withering branch
The nightingale sings a melancholic song
With a voice that remembers the past
Like echoes of spring from long, long ago
As the wind stirs amidst the trees
The nightingale sings a despondent tune
A winged memory of open blue skies
Now painted with a little more gloom…
But at night the nightingale sits in silence
Warm in the nest looking up at the stars
While the wind whispers amidst the trees
And leaves fall gently on the ground
The little bird reminisces of times
Of days lived and laughed and gone ...

Just Keep...
Just keep swimming
The water is deep or else you may sink to the bottom
Life is meant to be a never ending lesson so you better
Put those skills to good use so show them if you got ‘em
Just keep swinging
You’ll have to fight for what you earnestly believe
Learn to pivot and move like you have a smooth groove
Have your wits about you so that you'll never be as naïve
Just keep trotting
This journey is a grueling marathon and not a sprint
From time to time you’ll have to dash with fierce urgency
But in the long run your craft...

It was a sunny day and the breeze was warm
The waters were so clear I could see deep below
But just past the coral reef where I’d taken the boat
One wave suddenly knocked me overboard
And what seemed to be an eternity underwater
The colors from the surface seemed to gleam
There I caught a glimpse of magic and illusion
Like a surreal dream dressed in emerald green
It was a feminine figure with long flowing hair
Moving with elegance in the water underneath
She had an angelic face with beauty and grace

But in a virtual world some things don’t last forever
Remembering fondly that this used to be the place
You’ll walk away with friendships and memories
For all the hours and days you invested in your art
The work that you put in creating a magical realm
Shared with others who were also such a big part

Just know that I thrived to make you smile
And that I also I strived to make your laugh
Because I cried too with you in your grief
Even if my tears didn’t bring you any relief
But it was my belief that in sharing these emotions
I would kind of move you in some type of way
