The Execution

"Exonerate the perpetrator,"
No one ever said
For the townfolk stood there
Staring at the victim's bloody head
The woman had been so beautiful
Now, she was such a bloody mess

"We'll hunt him down and
Make him pay for his grave mistake
So say the powers that be
Then when the people heard  the news
the criminal had been apprehended for
His brutal, ruthless, so despicable sin
The little people gathered in
the courtyard creating such a din
Shouting, " Kill him, kill him, kill him!'

The criminal could not escape
The hangman's anticipating noose
"We will have gotten justice then,"
The king said to the unconsolable queen
"For the bastard destroyed our precious only child."
