course correcting a soul

vibrant colors
swirl into breathless whimsy
lush verdurous greens
moist from a kiss of rain,
grow ground up in a surround
aim willful penetration
into muggy tear kissed skies

jasmine vines
bend, sway and curl climb up
massive tree trunks
gnarling themselves
through fenced shrubbery
to peek fanciful fare

o' harvest my haggard heart!
lie it sweetly pon grassy hope
humming enticements
opening ethereal realms
listening
growing
awakening steadfast, strong
and so willingly tangled
within soft whispers,
and secret utterances
where ample caresses blow
in a mystical language
of lost childhood magic

zephyr'd hints creep
winding their way
conduct dew covered greenery
spotted in lavender and rosemary
over fae who dance and play
proof certain deities
beckon their brilliance
from a liminal teetering

spanish moss
creeps crooked fingers
coats its cover over most things
miraculous, how it languidly lingers
hanging warped,
those twisted tendrils
heavy, in a picturesque bow

deepening hot humid air
is what remains
from an afternoon's reprieve of breezes
slick and heavy-damp
swelters my daily sauna
soothingly, like a hot tonic balm

the sun warms
life itself

a soul is renewed
in perfect
understanding

of all
that
really
matters.

a walk through my own neighborhood, taking in the natural beauty, even though it feels like it's 1000° outside (actually per my phone it was 107°)
This version was inspired by an older poem based on this same walk, which I still greatly enjoy.

Pic: One I took of a favorite house I pass almost daily. I'm a creature of habit and always look inside to say hello to the little bichon mix who's usually bark-wagging at the door...
