How to prevent catistrauphic wildfires

This article focuses on Australia and California and how they are looking to the indigenous people and their land management practices to prevent disastrous fires

...Today, officials in both the United States and Australia are increasingly turning to Indigenous land management practices to help control wildfires...

In Australia, Indigenous people have done some form of cultural burning on the land for thousands of years, and it is only in recent centuries that cultural burning was outlawed.
Before the Gold Rush and Spanish Era, millions of acres of California were burned every year for more than 13,000 years by hundreds of tribes across the region. Now, governments mostly suppress fires, which leads to a build-up of fuel for catastrophic wildfires down the road.

I decided my previous comment wasn't worth it. I say we call Smokey the bear. In response to preventing wildfires.

A simple monument to recognize the huge contribution made by the Choctaw nation to the people of Ireland who were starving to death from the lack of food

Of all the gifts from nations, theirs is probably the most cherished and talked about here still nearly 175 years later

Saddens me a little because the famine/ genocide was the catalyst for a mass exodus mostly to the Americas where like most all the peoples who went there played their part of massacre-ing the indigenous
