Everything is an Illusion.

I never lived ordinarily,
I moved every season.
Mom never told me why,
I didn't want the reasons.

We never had the money
to blow on fancy cars.
We never knew of Fathers Day,
not since we lost ours.

You and I have the same eyes,
and you outgrew me fast.
I hate seeing you move on,
leaving me still perched on the grass.

On the yard where we lived first,
in this forsaken state.
22 houses we crashed,
and now we anticipate another gate.

One more house we won't stay in,
another pet that just won't live.
Now I'm grown up and talking babies,
Bubby, all I see are cribs.

You're my only secret keeper.
You know every little flaw.
Who held me when I got the disease?
Who caught me with each fall?

I love you, baby brother.
I'm sorry that we've grown.
Time is only an illusion,
I'll never leave you 'lone.
