Blue Jean Sea
Wondering if you’ll hold
A breathing note you can fold
Stuff in your Blue Jean Sea
With deep pockets and frayed edges
Of white trickling foam
Weep and seep your salt into me
Whitecap crests like hands
Too heavy to touch a beach sun
Fingertip tides so high
Raise me into your water palm
From miles of haunted shoreline
Erase my sunken footsteps
My black hair will be your keratin cape
Cloaking each drowned living memory
My soaked lungs will help you breathe
A sigh of relief in each denim wave
I’ll ease your Blue
From all the lost souls
God didn’t take
A breathing note you can fold
Stuff in your Blue Jean Sea
With deep pockets and frayed edges
Of white trickling foam
Weep and seep your salt into me
Whitecap crests like hands
Too heavy to touch a beach sun
Fingertip tides so high
Raise me into your water palm
From miles of haunted shoreline
Erase my sunken footsteps
My black hair will be your keratin cape
Cloaking each drowned living memory
My soaked lungs will help you breathe
A sigh of relief in each denim wave
I’ll ease your Blue
From all the lost souls
God didn’t take
Author's Note
Inspired by the song from Heart - Soul of the Sea

For some reason it took me to a place of how people get been lost at sea.
A sea of heaven in a way - but not wanting to be one.

Let us tell you LDF doesn't pull your chain, if she doesn't like she doesn't lie. This is a great piece, it's amazing how much you can get out of a pair jeans and some salt water. To tight Lady

Hahah!!
Dude I have a personal connection with my wardrobe. LOL
In a way - not me but characters I put on - except my jeans.
Love all of my blue jeans with frayed edges. All comfy and soft.
I feel at home with them on. So I just put into a metaphor for the sea.
Yes - I tend to overthink things. LOL

Dear A,
From the title to the end this was stellar. Outstanding in creating a visual in the minds eye of color, water, characters. The story arch is very cool. I’m adding a merman to my version of this piece. 😉
Awesome as per. H🌷

Hey H:)
So glad you used the word stellar!! Whaat!! Yay!!
Hahaha.
So happy you enjoyed my Blue Jean Sea:) Love my jeans!!!
Just popped in my mind and tried to figure out how to write this into a metaphor without it sounding random. Took me a couple of days to really get a feel for it before I decided to post.
Thanks so much for the RL and your awesomeness!!!

Hi Rianne:)
You know the sea is around 70% of the earth. Who knows what is down there. We have a lot of books in our gift shop regarding lost battleships and sailors. So much life in the sea and death. Just got my mind in the zone along with the song. Thinking of the sea actually having a soul just grabbed onto my mind. But for me I'm sure there are many souls down there. Along with families without closure but somehow living day to day trying to find some sort of piece with it - and I'm rambling. LOL

Hi Sawyer:)
Awhh thanks - Music is a great jump start for me. It gives me flashes of images in my mind to build upon.
Tuning into it has never really
been a problem for me but putting it down on paper - that is challenging for me at times. Sometimes things just flow - other times it takes me a few days - one phrase at a time.
Thanks for the RL and comment buddy!!

Geez, I am so late getting here. Sorry chica. Agree with SMS, you are a metaphorical queen. Absolutely love the imagery you create, it's so creative and beautiful. I love your special style that is all you. And I think you are beautiful so that works really well for me. (and everyone else too). Love the blue jeans combined with the ocean, I was definitely riding the waves smelling the salt in the air. Haunted shoreline reminds me of when I would swim in the ocean and it was dark with a storm in the distance watching the lightning, getting hit by the rain. 'My soaked lungs will help you breathe, A sigh of relief in each denim wave' Well that just sounds really dirty to me. I love dirty. lol

Hi Kristina!!!
It's never too late for you. So glad you enjoyed by Blue Jean Sea:)
That sounds amazing - I don't live by the ocean so
I have yet to try that. You just gave me a great vision of being in the ocean at night while it's raining!!!
I just felt cool water pellets hitting me. LOL
I've been offsite more often lately. Got to dig into my other side project for the time being. But I will log on and read when I need a need a break. So happy to hear from ya.
P.S. I love dirty too!! heheheheh
I agree with SMS - troublemaker - but one with a great heart:)
Thanks for stopping by and the RL!!!

How'd I miss this?! Shit! So I'm slower than some. Lol.
"White cap crests like hands" !!! Excellent line.
I also can't help but think of a woman's hips, swaying. Because of the references to denim and frayed edges, pockets.... So I'm a guy, sue me. Lol.
This is a very good write from you! You're pulling out the metaphors like sparklers!
I love it.

Awhh hey Styx - no worries:)
I can totally see how you interpret this piece like swaying hips. LOL
Too cool!!! I love when people see something different when my reading my stuff.
Just something that came to me while listening to music. And I love
my blue jeans. Yes - I love dressing up but I also enjoy the flip side as well. Love comfy jeans.
Where I can eat a burger and still feel comfortable. No skinny jeans!!!!! hahahah
Have a great weekend amgio:)

I like it...Rockin' All Over The World! Subtle hint to my favourite band, Status Quo (pronounced State-us Quo in the uk), lol. They like dressing up in tight denim. ;-)

I like a little space in my denim. I only wear skinny jeans if I don't plan
to eat a big dinner. LOL
Otherwise I am miserable. I love food. Not one of those females
who is too shy to eat. hahahah
Glad you enjoyed this. Rockin' All Over The World. I remember you
recommended them to me once. They do kick some UK butt!!

I need to try that!!!
I've never froze.
Doesn't last long enough.
When I was pregnant with my boys I could
down a whole watermelon all by myself.
Only thing that didn't get me sick.
Good times - hahahahah
