life as a notion seeking its ocean
“He who does not know his way to the sea should take a river for
his guide.”—Blaise Pascal
gentle river,
cheerful giver
of your life-sustaining ink,
let me with thee
take the journey
to thy oceanic rink.
in your nature
lies my future,
e'er persistent to your goal;
absolutely,
resolutely,
pressing on, you joyful soul!
still defending,
never bending,

sacrificing my body (to the sun)
that
steamy heat
soaking
into me,
soothing
on my skin,
those summer
shore days,
the smell
of the ocean,
washing over
my senses,
lying on
a bed
of sand,
sacrificing
my body
to
the sun.

I am the Sea
I will entice you, with my emotion
By using my simple, harmonic motion
The ebb of the waves going to and fro
Hypnotic to watch, for this I know
My glistening colours reflect from the sky
As your mind wanders, watching birds as they fly
My soothing sounds, relax your mind
As you forget about the daily grind
You watch as children swim within me
Their little bright faces all full of glee
On my surface, surfers and boats go past
Memories to cherish, of these times to last
But I am a beast of savage proportion

An Atmospheric River
It's never too soon on days like today
to energize all of the party lights
and watch the lingering leaves blow away
in vortical El Nino flights...
where, in with the fresh air and rain,
spins new activity of thought
unwinding that twist in my brain
which the Halloween candy had brought.
So now I watch the clouds come and go,
like kisses supplying anew,
the reasons for the future to grow
even when skies are no longer blue...
but tinged here and there with an evening...
to energize all of the party lights
and watch the lingering leaves blow away
in vortical El Nino flights...
where, in with the fresh air and rain,
spins new activity of thought
unwinding that twist in my brain
which the Halloween candy had brought.
So now I watch the clouds come and go,
like kisses supplying anew,
the reasons for the future to grow
even when skies are no longer blue...

The Sea
How mesmorizing it is by the sea!
A grand display of symmetry, supreme.
A splash of the divine;
Blanketing life submerged.
A luminous glow, a glimmer of
hope for you and me.
Such sweet scintillation is the sea;
The sea in silenced blue hue.
Bathed in twilight,
by moonlit descent.
In all its wondrous splendor;
Its diaphanous glow.
Settling upon these
frigid waters
The sea has found me
in its frothy wake.
Have you ever noticed
how alluring it is by the sea?

the sea
Walking along the beach watching
The moon also rises in the sky.
Reminder of my love and
Trying hard not to cry.
Trying to find comfort at sea
On a moonlit night
Alone with my thoughts on the beach
Not a soul in sight.
Listen while the waves crash
Against the dark empty beach
Feeling lost and alone
Each wave rushes deep into my heart
Wandering towards the water
I feel my feet getting wet.
I hear him calling my name
I soon started to forget...
Deeper into the sea I walk
Soon the water rushes over...
The moon also rises in the sky.
Reminder of my love and
Trying hard not to cry.
Trying to find comfort at sea

Alone with my thoughts on the beach

Syl (with original Patois quotations)
Chapter 1
Family and Friends
A short slim man built a shanty in a squatter settlement near the fishing village in Greenwich Farm. He lived there with his girlfriend and his two little daughters. His name was Sylvester and everybody called him Syl for short. He also had an illegitimate son who lived with his mother in the country. Syl was a street vender. He had an old wooden stall on a sidewalk downtown and he sold a variety of items.
Fishing was Syl’s main hobby. He had two close friend Ronny and Arnold who used to go fishing with him....

TO BE ABLE TO ESCAPE
What would you give of thyself if it was possible not impossible, to just escape to somewhere that time passes, so silently as it has become, non-existent to the naked eyes. What would you give of thyself if you could imagine how very much, would you appreciate the peacefulness with it's serenity with a calmness, and a majestic vibe that connects you to your inner voice. Reaching beneath the deepness of your mind and touching the walls of your own chain of thoughts. Now let's just pretend that what you see through your own eyes, is not an mirage but just a wonderful painting. That you have...

Light and Longing
Orange light funneling out on the water
A yellow beam greets it, missing synchronicity
Two fellows of solitude; signalling sanctuary
But their gaze never meets
As their selfless beacons dance upon the sea
How doomed are the rays
that never cross paths,
How romantic the intentions
that fall short of the mark?
Isnt the anticipation part of the thrill...
Do not the waves disturb the ocean still?
Perhaps lightkeepers are happy with their lot
To pour hours into good company,
the point is not
Then how sad for me...
A yellow beam greets it, missing synchronicity
Two fellows of solitude; signalling sanctuary
But their gaze never meets
As their selfless beacons dance upon the sea
How doomed are the rays
that never cross paths,
How romantic the intentions
that fall short of the mark?
