Hoi hoi
It’s because I love to do it.
I love having a good time.
And I hope you feel the same way about it.
Good luck to you and your writes.
Kind regards, Gus

I’ve always kept journals. However I had a nervous breakdown when I was 22/23 and shut down completely. Writing helped me start to feel things again.

Been writing ever since.

Now, I need to do it. It’s as essential to me as breathing. It’s purging. Feeling. Processing. Some I share, some I don’t.

Completely necessary.

I’ve heard a phrase somewhere don’t know who to attribute it to but it stuck with me

If you want to know about the world you need to read

If you want to know about yourself you need to write.

I’ve discovered so much about how I think and feel about the world by writing it out.

90% of the time I’m as shocked by what I’ve written than the reader

my comment above was a bit pretentious. ha! but this is what i meant. i could have written this exact same comment. right down to the mental breakdown at 22/23.

I don't know and I'm glad I don't know.

The truth is there should not be any reason why anyone would write because if it happens naturally, it flows without force without effort then there should not be any explanation.

When I stop writing, I just stop.
I don't know why I stopped and it doesn't matter.
I don't care.

I let it be.
The choice was never mine to begin with.

Written and found stories fascinating before learnt to tie my shoelaces. Guess poetry is extension of that. Not that I ever call myself a poet (probably UK class thing).

I write poetry because I feel so good when I write stories. I am glad I found this website where I can easily find a lot of poetry which I can read. I also like to read poems. I am a college student, I face problems with writing assignments but I have found the https://studyclerk.com/ website which helps me in completing my essay assignments.

Sometimes I get inspired out of nowhere, a few words or sentences come to me, i mull them over in my head, and if they (or the feelings which inspired them) are interesting for me to keep thinking about, I end up writing something and posting it here.

I am not a very good poet, the process of writing ...for me, is more like spontaneous catharsis than anything else. xD

...but I'm glad when I  can and do post something, these little works for me are interesting to look back on, and remember how much time changes everything. As well, it is nice to hear people's kind comments about what I've written.

I write poetry, because poetry to me is a way to express the feelings I bottle up overtime. Then other people see those poems, and I usually get good comments. Also it's really fun to write poetry, and a good way to let all the emotions out.
