Yesterday's tears today

If there was a familiar song sang
it would be the sighs from your lips
your breath lifted upwards to heavens
like angel wings unfurling beyond the blue

I see you in every aspect of my day
You so precious I miss you everyday
I look at the clouds above I am sad today
It’s because I miss you more than words can say

Goodbye would be easier to say
if the air I breathe didn’t permeate
with the essence of you
scents of lilac ghosts past

I’ll be ok today I guess nothing’s changed
Moving forward is the hardest thing to do
My days once filled with joyous bounds
I gave you my crown I lost sight of myself

I desire to pluck blossoms from the air
and tell myself its kisses from far away
where gossamer wings and angels hair
with flowers of springs past abide

I wish for brighter days tomorrow will be better
I’m so tired I’ll lay down in this field of Daisy’s
I’ll look at the clouds and think of you
Time will pass and I’ll someday be over you

O wind, bring my hearts sigh
moonlight, send my poems recited
loneliness is like winged Icarus
soaring to meet wishes written on air.
