Homo Insanis Stultus

Be it a miraculous seven-day
Or millions of years from a big bang
Surely, we have come a long way
And now what have we become?

We have invented fast cars
But are always late;
We got online computers
But rarely communicate!

We have claimed the moon
Oh, aren't we conquerors?
We dream to reach other planets
But not our next door neighbors.

We desalinized the sea water
And polluted the air;
We get too much from the earth
And have forgotten what is fair.

We gather all information
To upgrade all kinds of science,
Yet we are not gaining wisdom
To improve our conscience.

We have so much knowledge
And have so many experts.
We built countless colleges
To produce slaves for the masters.

We submit to meaningless labor
With sheer intention to earn a living;
And spend our whole lifetime
Without really living...

We crave valuable things
And sit on our pile of wealth -
In exchange of our values
And even of our own health.

We waste time earning money -
Hoping a future so convenient
Until we are nothing but too old
For any kind of enjoyment...

We have a myriad line of drugs
To alter our natural beauty,
But not a single pill
To sanctify our dignity.

We have so many plans
But are afraid of commitment;
We mess with our lives
And blame the government.!

We enacted countless laws
That are supposed to keep us;
And yet, we don't have a clue
Why the world has so much chaos.

How can we keep on wishing
For a life that is longer
While with so much rigor trying
To destroy each other?

Oh, just like what Francis said
We talk peace and make guns
We cheer madly at biebers
After murdering the lennons.

We learn, we train hard
In order to compete...
We set selfish goals
And forget to cooperate.!

We ought to fight for what is right
We ought to stand for what is good
We end up justifying what is wrong
By the many laws we misunderstood.

We turned into voracious gluttons;
We no longer eat in order to survive
Now, we consume almost anything
Some even swallow other people alive.

From clumps of dust we thrived this land,
Evolved and at some point became human
But at this rate, soon the question will come:
"Where have all the humans gone?"

***just if anybody gets curious, Francis here is not the Pope. if you wanna know, search for the song "KALEIDOSCOPE WORLD" by Francis M.
