Patience

I was waiting
Patiently waiting
It had been 5 hours
Not that there had
Been a set time period
I was use to waiting
Waiting patiently
The master of waiting
The patience of a saint
A saint regularly tested

I felt frustration build
Despite knowing that stress
Will not make it happen
It will almost always
Make the waiting longer
Stress never helps
I try to calm down
Check my breathing
Think of nothingness
Chant my mantra
and wait patiently

sleep will finally arrive
it always does
it’s a question of
when and not if
but I must wait
patiently
