every road leads somewhere. & every roadhouse is an
oasis in this great wilderness of romance.
my eyes (if she was listening) told her she was beyond
sexy. she got angry. ‘don’t look at me like that!’ ‘you
were made to be looked at like that,’ I said, & it was
true. I didn’t stop, even as her discontent tried to burn
me out of existence.
the trip I took from her cold north to the tropic southern
drift of her seductive beauty was strictly out of desperation.
I needed her branded into my skull. from the fiery lips that
I would suffer to kiss, sinking toward the firm fullness
where babies feed & men yearn. a failed handhold. slipping
through cleavage, past the belly that bore no savior.
dropping at last to my knees, to praise the golden fleece, the grail,
sacred temple for a man of no religion. her tender, forbidden
petals that I would scrape with my tongue if she allowed it.
the entire fantasy of her, that I wanted embedded in my mind, to
caress me when I’m in a lonely place. which happened regular.
she, being a modern woman, didn’t care for the label that I was
pinning to her low-cut dress, like a nametag that brazenly
remarked ‘Tramp’ in fancy script. you are not a tramp, Darlin;
you are the glory that guides me along my perilous journey in
the ever encroaching night.
she’s my Lucille, even if that isn’t her name. raise your steins,
gentlemen, & toast to every Lucille who makes the wilderness
so beautiful for jokers like us…

Yes, a beauty by any name, all the way from the "fiery lips" to the "golden fleece" and beyond. It's well worth getting lost in these fine lines.

Let your gaze linger on the wilderness of a luscious woman's body ... Your poems never cease to paint romantic as well as shady surroundings. Very appealing :-).

JF, am reading this v.late but that had some good. Could make out remarkable similarity in expressions of ur S2, the diehard lover inspite of 'discontent' with hemihead's recent post with its opening stanza reading the same emotions. How strikingly same thoughts in two different settings n from two greatly adored poets! A worthy wilderness journey this one, lifeline. Tq :)
