Silent Indifference

Needing so much to reach out
she held out her hands to him
but her heart ached
for she was dancing on harsh words
like thorns upon her feet

she wanted to vocalise
her desires
but it was as difficult
as telling a five year old
about the birds and bees

did he understand...
how could he
he never listened anyway
he was never there
tending to her bubbling desires

the musky smell of man
caressed her imaginations
he never saw her leave
or return
he was fast asleep

she turned away
slept on the couch.
