LOVE POEM

In memory of my sweet little one
you were such a sweet, good, and beautiful little kitten
gracious and courageous too despite your weak health
I knew the first time I held you in my arms that you were
meant to be in my life and I felt that special connection
we had right from the start on that fateful day back in July
I loved everything about you -- all your sweet, endearing
little ways and even your poop did not smell bad to me
a big hole remains in my heart now that you're gone
and sometimes I can't help but weep intensely when
I think of your loss -- but more than that I know...

SHE
she was turning all their heads
just being in line at the market
and doing her thing
everybody was staring, pointing,
and whispering remarks under
their breath
why can't she just go about her business
without causing such a reaction?
I wonder how it must make her feel --
causing a spectacle almost everywhere she goes --
and my heart aches
indignation bubbles up inside of me at such ingnorance
it's 2014 after all
shouldn't we have come a lot further by now?
get with it...

I can't rescue you
This is dedicated to a friend with whom I am currently staying!
I can't rescue you
I can't rescue you from the fact that you are bored with life
I can't rescue you from the fact that you get stoned and drunk all day
so as to not feel your pain
I can't rescue you from your depression or your hate
I can't make things better for you
and can't rescue you from the fact that you feel so hopeless and
without purpose
You are so bright and talented and
I will always have hope that any day now you can start turning things around ...

This jar of weed
this jar of weed has been sitting here for a while
every day I intend to smoke some but then I don't
doesn't mean that tomorrow I won't
although it occurred to me the reason I leave it be
could be because I am chill and relaxed already times three
so if I smoke this weed it will just put me to sleep
that's why I always prefer a cup of coffee ;)

I'll always be proud
I'll always be proud
when we go out
doesn't matter if we're fit and slim
or have extra pounds and a slight double chin
doesn't matter the color or style of our hair
or the type of outfit we choose to wear
doesn't matter if we want to be dapper or fab
or make other people think we are freakish and bad
doesn't matter if we are acting bold
and get perceived as way too old
doesn't matter whether they stare and whisper, or not
to me we'll always be nothing but hot :) ♡♡♡

your writings -- I love them so
they mesmerize me and I never
want to stop reading once I start
glimpses of you appear in the
images that flow from your pen
and onto the page
materializing directly into my mind's eye
reading you is such an intimate act
and through it I connect with you
and feel close to you
your writings -- they stay forever
in my heart mind and soul

A good deal
Oh boy they sure have quite the racket going on here
good for them in a way
but me I am just browsing
perusing the flimsy tops
that are sewn together shoddily
and already coming apart at the seams
with a pricetag of almost $50 bucks to boot
over on the other side of this urban extravaganza
one can find cheap and garish jewelry for $28 a piece --
made in china --I don't think so -- I get the real thing at
pawn shops or garage sales for under half that
the sandals I bought for $5 they're
shilling...
good for them in a way

Thank you to a great teacher
you are a great teacher and
the amount of your knowledge is vast
I feel lucky to be able to learn so much
from you and you have the ability
to make me think and see the world
with new eyes
I am forever grateful for what you
have taught me and continue to teach me --
you are a true pioneer, freethinker and genius
and I will always be fascinated by the way
you look at things.....
so thank you not only for being you
but also for being a great teacher --
this knowledge that you have given...
the amount of your knowledge is vast

UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL POEM

"aha" moment
there are few better moments than the "aha" moment
the one when the lightbulb finally comes on
usually unexpectedly and totally out of the blue
and after some vexation has been floating around
in my mind for quite some time and after I pondered
the riddle in question from every possible angle
but then when that moment of illumination comes --
and it usually does come sooner or later --
it's a fantastic feeling of elation and excitement
and afterwards I always feel very grateful for
the "aha" moment and its imparted...
