with just killing women and girls in the name of pro life
Now you're out to kill the heart of Houston's schools
to kill choices, knowledge, literacy, and joy

You're coming for the libraries.

Under your dystopian plan,
libraries will be turned into "discipline centers"
a place for disruptive students
to learn remotely.

Hey crazy Texas,
here's a thought:
how about teaching those bored, disruptive students
to get hooked on books
and give them time in class
to actually read them-
whichever ones they choose-

maybe there would be fewer disruptive students.

once you get rid of all the books
-what's left after your bans on free thought and historical facts-
After you gloat about how the mandated ten commandments on the wall are now more prominent,
do this:
stock your discipline centers
with lots of paper and pencils.

Next, invite Houston school district superintendent Mike Miles
and the other backward thinkers
into the anti-critical thinking chambers that used to be libraries.
Have them sit in the small plastic chairs
and write 1,000 times:
