How many Negroes have you captured from Africa and brutally enslaved?
Tell us, how many human beings have you exploited and oppressed?
How many people have you wrongfully accused and convicted in your unjust courts?
Evildoers, how many innocent souls have you sent to the gallows?
How many times have you stolen our gold, silver and diamonds to gain wealth?
Can you recall how many villages you have pillaged and destroyed?
How many lies have you told to persuade voters to elect you political leaders?
Teachers, how many youths have you...

Even Reds Get Moon-eyed On Saturday Night
Now, you have me at the video store. And I was promised the first pick of the movie. I have a yen for something with a socio-political subtext. Here, is one, ‘The Trial’ an Orson Welles movie based on the Kafka novel. That is my choice.”
“How Kafkaesque, but watching a guy accused of a nameless crime sounds kind of dreary.”
“No not at all! You just have to get in the right mindset. Paranoia can be healthy in small doses like salt on French fries.”
“Then what about ‘Rebel Without A Cause?’”
“My urban rebellion has a cause. But...

No Land Mines
I want to go where the war is over
Where people have gone back to their lives
The ones's fought are remembered by statues
So the same mistake won't be brought back to life.
I want to go where war exists only in museums
People reduced to their names
As if being a victim is an accomplishment.
I want to go where laughter echos louder than bombs
Where children play on safe grounds
Where promises made have seen daylight
Where peace has sinked in through generations.
I hope I get there, I hope we all do

missing the days of
slow decline that we
lived through fifty
years ago I’d never
have considered it
possible that it could
get as bad as this (I wish I could
go back)

Raining Dust
Verse 1
Quick, grab an umbrella
it's time to die fella
can't you see? It's raining dust
no one left to trust
shadows burned into the wall
waiting on the last bomb to fall
Chorus
Dust falling on the playground
burying the youth without a sound
killing to prove a point
no time to waste, just roll another joint
Verse 2
Are those airplanes I hear?
Is that the shadow of death drawing near?
Does it even matter to you?
Tell me Mr. Senator, are you okay?

Modern Day Caligula
(a sonnet)
He is a modern day Caligula
Ranting how he should be back on the throne
Screaming loud you can see his uvula
As the orange paint doesn’t match the tone
His deception game has quite the brilliance
Something's wrong, one can see it in his eyes
He’s been able to hypnotize millions
Followers swallow bukkakes of lies
It’s sad when masses heed to a mad man
It passes for normal without disdain
It’s a plain train wreck waiting to happen
But the senseless idiot has gone...

Dealer's choice
You make the world go 'round with every buy
yet so many hungry still die
empty hearts leaving their marks on the world
hiding their gains they have squirrelled
hiding their paper sins from the masses
in hopes that your unease soon passes.
In this game, where every choice is felt
you cannot trust the dealer who dealt
His friends the poverty and you the remains
fold now and walk away with your gains
meager though they be
no one profits from your misery.
No, this is a dealer's choice
watching the foolish and desperate...

Potentiation
The busybody auction blockhead boys
chomp at the bit to denigrate the meek
with foreseen labels like "loser" or "freak"
as peace is what whore purpose destroys;
a cold ambition, so gravely misled,
but to instigators most addicting
when by its coercion soon predicting
who's left behind and who will get ahead...
ahead of all except the greater good,
whose teamwork would have else wise provided
the most to make of any neighborhood
where wit and effort are coincided
with surplus stacked like seasoned cords of wood... ...

pipedreams
the vicissitudes of vexational politics
the congress of the weary soul at night
in fitful slumber pipedreams would incite,
were parliamentary apostrophes
judiciously aligned with fantasies.
politic sleep leaves pillow boundaries
to guard the head from animosities
that penetrate the secrets of the mind,
leaving intact, by ignorance confined,
blind leadership voted by ballot breach.
the loudest snorers are the first to preach
of constitutional sharp-sightedness
yet, how acute their feeble-mindedness,

even the nazis are confused
it’s ironic, really, listening to far right agitators getting angry about pro-palestinian marches, when you consider their hatred of jews

Lawfare
Proud man; simple, simple fool...
gave up too soon on the golden rule
and devised himself a devious way
to keep other folks from having a say
at what is fair and what is not
in the grand mosaic of human thought,
and that way devised he labeled as law
which too soon stuck in the collective craw
where all needs and creeds had to be deduced
so tribulations could be reduced
and the mix, betwixt, all land and folks
wouldn't come to be seen as cruel jokes,
in the evolution of politics,
from outrage all the way to fiddlesticks!

My cut
Don't go killing and murdering, that's twenty
unless I get my cut then you can kill plenty.
Selling drugs and destroying neighborhoods?
No sir, only I can handle the goods
no sense in fighting for the scraps
I already own most of the traps.
I am God in these lands
nothing is okay unless it's by my hands.
Racism and bigotry are major issues
unless I need some new political tissue
to Frankenstein my campaign,
Only I can cause pain.
You'll need a permit for your permit
but only if I permit you to have it
no sense in letting...
