A Mosaic of desires (with Reading)
Dressed in happiness ...
A lewd and rough pattern
We will multiply in a moment -
souls in a kaleidoscope ...
Desires, in a rapid stream,
Pulse ...
And rush into the open -
To be drunk ...
to a drop ...
on a dispute ...
Reckless and frantic -
Sentimentally ruthless minstrel,
In spite of the winds ...
in spite of fate!
Eye to eye ...
Captivity unrestrained
Exquisite, hopeless and fatal,
Overwhelming the glamour of the bedroom
Intertwining moans ...
and knees ...
Slowly ... you taste the
Tight flesh of burst petals ...
Exploding with torture ...
The painful
temptation of Your love
is unbearably sinful ...
It is full of You ...
A cry broke into eternity,
Scattered into a Mosaic of desires ...
Alive by you ...
on the exhalation of confessions ...
And a new feeling ... is filling
the spring ...
The aftertaste ...
is bitter and sweet
A lewd and rough pattern
We will multiply in a moment -
souls in a kaleidoscope ...
Desires, in a rapid stream,
Pulse ...
And rush into the open -
To be drunk ...
to a drop ...
on a dispute ...
Reckless and frantic -
Sentimentally ruthless minstrel,
In spite of the winds ...
in spite of fate!
Eye to eye ...
Captivity unrestrained
Exquisite, hopeless and fatal,
Overwhelming the glamour of the bedroom
Intertwining moans ...

A cry broke into eternity,

I know a number of people have suggested I do an erotic reading... But I am still working up to that. lol
Still get anxious enough doing these readings. :p Never quite think they are good enough.

Often I think of intense romantic Southern poets when I read or listen to your writing. Often sexy and a throwback to writing from another Era we don't see often anymore.
In a word..... Exquisite

Definitely intense, romantic, and Southern. ;) And I like that you capitalized Southern. lol Although I was outside of America much of the time growing up. Sexy is always good ;) and throwback to writing from another Era is definitely very interesting to me. I like the Renaissance era. Thanks so much for the wonderful compliments and I adore Exquisite. ;)

You are definitely very sweet Lawrence. That really helps me feel a little better about these especially knowing how many incredible readings you have done. I thought perhaps I read too fast but this was one I had done before that I just saw had not been posted so went with it. Hopefully any future ones will be better. Really appreciate the encouragement and awesome compliment so much.

So much trouble. ;)
I know this one is a different structure so I am glad you like it. You know me, my style is chaos just like my mind. :p "man that voice" I am blushing. ;p That makes me really happy. 'sexy southern twang' hell yes :p. I really appreciate the feedback on the reading so much. It definitely helps me. :)
You definitely got it! I can tell you know exactly what I was talking about. Absolutely nailed it, I love that...
Thanks, I like that you understand. It doesn't help that my OCD wants everything to be perfect which is impossible. :p
That's such a lovely thing to say, I appreciate that so much... I definitely feel the same way about your work. :) <3

And Americans love the British accent. ;) There you go spreading love and light again, you are so funny and I am smiling so big. I really miss Pizza Express in the UK. They have phenomenal pizza, not sure why it's called express since it's a nice restaurant; but you know what I am talking about. Really love that you thought it was a fantastic job Ron. Thanks so much for giving me your thoughts. That really helps me.

I feel pretty good if I represented the geography well. ;) Florida is so hot... :p Oh definitely my own worst critic, that's probably something to write about. I love that you see it as art and appreciate the perspectives, and deeper meanings. And that you see it as a special piece considering the different style. Thanks so much for coming by and sharing your thoughts Ted. That really helps me a lot.

I see your wings unfurling, taking flight, racing the stars across the skies. Your power grows with the depth of your soul. This is so evocative, so gloriously flowing with images in the mind. This poem is sharp, perfectly paced, emoting so much longing. These words are perfect "Captivity unrestrained // Exquisite, hopeless and fatal", not just good but a priceless jewel to read, to hold in my mind, to think they are an anthem for life. I am awed to say the least.

Such a beautifully poetic comment and imagery. You definitely know how to make me speechless. ;) I love that you could see the imagery play out in your mind. It's definitely about intense passion, longing, lust, desires, and life. So I love how strongly you were able to feel it. I know the style is different and being spoken word your feedback helps me so much. I am completely in awe of your comment, it really means a lot to me. And thank you so much! for the nomination. That completely caught me off guard. I really don't know what to say.
Re: Re. A Mosaic of desires (with Reading)
1) How much credit can I take for stating the obvious? In talking to you I feel you still think of yourself as something of a new poet but that's not what I see and feel. You are a poet with growing power, skill, and craft. 2) You deserve to be recognized for your craft and I did it to honor you and nothing more [I am very simple] but I hope people will open their eyes.

Perhaps it's not so obvious to me. :p I love that you see something different; yes, I do still think of myself as new. I suppose I never really thought of myself as a poet so let's just call that progress. lol Seriously though, thanks so much for the wonderful recognition and following along this path with me. I love that you and others see growth. I have never really been great at taking and responding to compliments. There are a number of reasons for that but anyway often I am a deer caught in the headlights; still it means so much to me and gets through my hard head eventually. (maybe) ;)

Ma’am I have only been reading you for a short while and I must say that you are pretty nimble at your craft. Your last two poems are quite different from the ones I read before. I have enjoyed them as much or maybe more. I too am a southerner I am a native New Orleanian. I was a little surprised when I heard your voice this time for the first time. Quite charming and sounded like your were a southern girl which somewhat surprised me. I enjoyed the read, poem and the visual.

Well pretty nimble sounds good to me. Yes, you will find that I write in different ways; keep you on your toes. ;) I don't want you getting bored. But really that's just how my chaotic mind works. lol That really makes me happy you liked the last two and really helps me given the different styles. Ah, New Orleans is a fun town. And knows how to do fried alligator right. ;) I like quite charming, thank you! But why surprised? I did spend much of my time growing up in the UK but was born in the South so maybe that's why. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it so much.

Dear K,
That was a great reading! You really should give yourself more credit. I know that’s easier said than done but really, in your case, you should. I really enjoyed the anticipation in this poem. The excitement and desire is pretty intense and heady. I remember when…and that’s what I liked is that recollection. I always admire your formatting, that’ll go without saying. Wonderful write, fabulous read! H🌷

Thanks Honoria. It's funny that in so many things I am fearless but posting spoken word ones is more personal in regards to sharing those. It's amazing I ever posted one in the first place. lol I kind of remember my author's note from the first one where I talked about it being a one time experiment. :p Anyway, I get more sensitive about these and my perfectionist mentality really comes out telling me it's never good enough. Still people have generally been very lovely with responding to these so that has made it easier to post them. So thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support. I appreciate it so much. Intense and heady excitement and desire, oh yeah - that's definitely me. :p I love that it brought back memories and even more so I wish you more of those kind of memories going forward. I know you have so much passion to share, that's easy to see. Ah, my impatient formatting. :p I love that you like it. I feel like it adds something to the readability so I really appreciate you giving me feedback on it. Thanks again Honoria, you are a gem! ;)

I wouldn't dare argue with Honoria, I respect her way too much. ;) I can argue with you though. (joking). :p I suppose you would think I would be over my hesitation with these by now. lol But what can I say, I am stubborn. My OCD is even more stubborn. Now if only I could apply my usual fearlessness in so many things to these I would be all set. So many contradictions... damnit. I get really anxious with public speaking to bigger groups of people so maybe it feels something like that. :p Thanks so much for echoing Honoria, I cannot imagine a better person to echo. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Hey Kristina,
Getting out of your comfort zone is never easy. I would have not known you were anxious about it - your read
was so smooth. No hiccups and I understood every word:) I applaud you!!!
As for your poem - all of your stanzas were like streams of desires. All flowing together wonderfully.
Then ending with a tasting:) Almost reminds me of going on a wine tasting for some reason:)
Even the way it looks on the page with your formatting works.
Emphasizing certain words and phrases.
Loved it!!!

Hey Chica! Thanks for your feedback on the reading, I really appreciate your opinion so much and that really helps me. I love how you perceived the streams of desire throughout flowing together. And tasting is definitely important. ;) I like that it made you think of a wine tasting too.
And I love that you like my impatient formatting. I did try to emphasize certain words and phrases to make it more impactful and perhaps easier to read. So knowing that worked is great.
I always love hearing your thoughts. Thanks so much for coming by and the wonderful comment. ;)

Why would you not consider this an erotic write?
It is. The brain's output is not only attractive, to readers and writers, it's also both the source and stomach for our sexual appetites.
We are all here at this site because we are a notch or two above the norm in how we are wired. We're more mental than average. So even the physical instincts still get filtered through our more finely tuned brains. Eroticism gets translated by what we read too, as we all know.
This write is erotic.
It's also probably the best pure poetry you've ever done.
When you strip away our looks and our primal instincts of attraction, we are brains, protected by a unique psyche (our soul).
And when we are done fighting or fucking, for the day, we all seek comfort in being surrounded by someone/s that we can also just be calm around. Be content, with no guards up.
As writers, we gravitate to like minds. We may be attracted by physical, but we always return to that sense of belonging, around "our kind".
So, you have no reason to ever doubt your belonging here, as a writer, or poet. Whatever title you prefer. Not only have you paid your dues, a write like this one you have here, pays the tab for the room today.
This is the Kristina that makes your beauty everlasting. Our words don't fade.
This is the Kristina that people will take serious. Writing is like giving people head-butts. Now you have their total attention.
Our writing/posting is subconsciously also a searching, for like minds. What we decide to write will determine what type of mind we attract. It's instinctive.
This is your best write, so far. It's your red carpet to the room. Do not doubt, ever again.

Okay, you busted me. lol Yes, it's erotic for sure but since I did not do it as an erotic reading and so I didn't want people to expect that so I went with the Love category. But yes, you are right that I see it as more erotic. That is why I put the author's note as well. This is all about intense passion, sexual appetites, and lust. I definitely understand what you mean regarding more mental than most. Eroticism is beautiful.
"It's also probably the best pure poetry you've done" I have to admit that was unexpected. That makes me really happy. I know this different from most of my writing so knowing you think that is pretty amazing. I love the primal instinct of attraction, it's always there driving us. Fighting and fucking, but absolutely seeking some calm where can be content and don't need to fight. That balance is very important. If you intensely burn all the time then you can burn out. Letting down the guard and giving someone access can be so wonderful. Of course if someone abuses that it can also be very destructive too.
Definitely gravitating to like minded people and that can be difficult to find. People who write poetry often experience things in different ways from most I think.
Thanks for the incredible compliment and encouragement. I really don't know what to say...
'makes your beauty everlasting' I love that.
And so glad to have your attention. ;) Head-butts. lol yes...
That's so true... Searching for like minds that can get to the deeper meanings which often, at least for me, may not be so obvious but are definitely there.
Damn, you are really trying to shut me up. :p Thank you for the absolutely incredible acknowledgement and compliment. I truly adore your comment and all that you said.

"Captivity unrestrained
Exquisite, hopeless and fatal,
Overwhelming the glamour of the bedroom " I love the emotions and mood that encompasses a passionate and lustful encounter, it's beautiful, almost forbidden in a sense.
As always your readings are phenomenal.
Great work.

Ah yes Wally! you definitely get me. I hope you could feel the emotions and mood I was expressing as part of this lustful encounter. Captivity unrestrained is the best kind right? And forbidden is always more thrilling, exciting, and passionate. Although I guess that's why there are so many affairs not that I am condoning that or anything. :p You are always so kind to me on the readings and that means so much. I kind of felt like this one wasn't as good, too fast and not as well received so I suppose I was kind of self conscious about that some. You would think I would stop being that way on these by now. lol Thanks so much for listening and sharing your thoughts. I love that!
