Dog-sitting Grits the Labradoodle

She's a kind soul
Owner has health problems
So we take her on a moments notice
I'm doing all the walking
Wife turned her ankle  
Grits and I walk at a good pace
This morning I turned my ankle slightly

What's going on here ?
Grits is a dream  
Sweet, doesn't beg too much
Licks my ears
Last night it was all instinct
Watching out for her on dark streets
Protecting each other  
The code of human and dog
