A quiet snuggle with her
Last night as many nights
I called her my flower

If I had to say,
bloody diarrhea is the worst thing.
I thought blood was beautiful,
Until I smelt it from an anus,

6am dog walk
Onyx was pacing at the door
No dump last night
Pretty baby had to go
Hit the street running
Past the fruit stand
Quick good morning to Kamal
Say it again on the way back
Onyx takes her time
Needs the right spot

Your Uber is Here
To make extra money I signed up to be an Uber driver
So I took my car to get detailed and waxed
Later that night I would pick up my first customer
And the person who booked it, his name was Max
It was a late Saturday night so people are out drinking
I had to pick up Max over at La Cienega’s restaurant row
There were a lot of folks up and down the street
The smell of food seemed to be everywhere I’d go
When I got to the place I kept looking for this guy Max
But no one seemed to be looking for my car and make
So I parked...

Sled Dog
No matter which way he does face
In his eye you see the race
From start to finish at winning pace.
He is the sled dog, born of faith.
Though he once pulled heavy loads
In course of daily work and toil
Now he races to serve his creed
Of serving man in face of need.
He is indeed a northern breed
Of the true North strong and free
Of harsh conditions, freezing cold
And true resolve of spirits bold.

Of that spirit burning bright.

I'm adopting Onyx next week, I already love her, we had our first encounter with a chicken bone this morning
New dog
Been 6 years since Ginger passed
Some people get a new dog in a few weeks
I mourned for 6 years
I'm still mourning but time helped me get here
You see my wife loves dogs incredibly
They love her, she walks and trains them some
Dogs love me too
Ginger put a good word in for me
I thought I had the whole dog experience with her
Until a month ago when my wife stood inches away from me
In a firm voice I don't hear often
She proclaimed
I need a damn dog
It was then I knew I was cooked

A junky yard for junkyard dogs
Buildings that stood tall we loved the view & looked down
Protective investments we saw equity in love & we stood on that
In the mud with someone who’s willing to stand in with you showed patience
Laughed but warned many how things could go if harm were the motive
We were junkyard dogs to some & made it clear they were correct
Ravenous with no help we medicated each other in different ways
We were animals & were told we needed chains
So I made sure they were iced out around our necks
