"it's sad when someone you know becomes someone you knew" ~Henry Rollins
I start
with the when
forcing my thoughts
to navigate around it
avoiding
so i feel it less
which leaves me darker
more broken tender
-thoughts of it should be easier-
then
the now
the today.
knowing
yet futile
in my constant wishing
(ohh those wishes)
... how they burrow in those places
deep...

You're correct in that... it's also how you can get irrevocably lost... I needn't worry about you though, because you shine too bright to be fully immersed in the darkness... (yes, it's true! )..
Ty for reading and your thoughtful comments, my dearest friend..I appreciate your list add and always your friendship, too

You have to watch out for those wishes. They are a lot like your mind/thoughts swallowing bits of poison.
Super write, Blue.

Dear BV,
This poem calls to mind that expression “time heals all wounds”. I fundamentally disagree with it. I think time can deaden all wounds or at the very least numb them. But healing? Nope. I thought the timeline of your poem fabulous. How you start the process of acknowledging when things went south to how you try to not think about the loss, then try to rise above the loss- yet- it’s always there. Underneath the surface. How many times I wish I could have changed my behavior or comments so that an unfortunate ending didn’t end so unfortunately. I hate when I don’t come looking good. Regret is as life sucking as unrequited love. You’ve expressed this eloquently and with laser precision. As per.

My lovely Honoria,
You said it, lady.. regret can press down as brutal as unrequited love. I think they work hand in hand, those little shits! hee hee hee... I try to let go of regret or try to be bolder and expressive in self growth enough to not have regrets, alas my personality type refuses to be that evolved... ha!
I suspect my neanderthal side won't ever be able to go through life without regret of some sort, it's just part of my DNA. I am compassionate, to perhaps a fault but I kinda like that about me too... even if I experience more pain than I should.
I loved these comments, H.
Ty for reading and the list add...I'm grateful
It's so interesting to know those who empathize, I think it's telling of one's character, and a deep capacity that they may share to care about others.... just an opinion!
Much love, my friend ;)

Dear, Lady Blue,
I am woefully lacking in my ability at,
"forcing my thoughts
to navigate around it"
I sail right into the pain.
I identify with with your pain,, Sweet Susan🐻💋🐻💋🐻

Felt ... Deeply ... Where the currents carry to our deep recesses when rushing through our perceptions can never be fully known ... Air out the house and have a house warming party to help ... Excellent write ... Bless and much love ... .

Wonderful write Blue, it resembles those what if's in life, like wishing we knew then what we know.
Great work.

Blue, this is beautifully expressed and really touched me.
Honoria is right -- time doesn't heal.
Thankfully we are eventually distracted by some other...impending catastrophe of the heart(?).

Thanks for the astute comments, J.
I too, agree. I think we become used to the pain life can inflict.... and yes, we continue forward until something more painful or pleasurable ( pleasure being far fewer and further in between) crosses our paths.... lol....
So happy you found some enjoyment here - x
Much obliged, for the visit 🙏🏻
All my warmest appreciation,

I love the pauses in your poem I think they perfect the feel of the poem. It is a deep poem. "Those places," are like shadows to me. The Shadows moan and the eyes close, a beautiful truth in it's own broken sorrow.

Hi there, William :)
I really appreciate your thoughtful comments and of your visit, itself. My heart is full, knowing that you found some relatability and enjoyment within my little write here.
I love your phrase 'a beautiful truth'... that's so very apt and makes me feel like I was able convey my intent clearly.
Thank you for the generous list add and all the wonderful sentiments left for me to read.
Warm regards,
🌹 - 💙

Gonna need a leather neck, drilling deep, to release that built up reservoir of emotion.
Time doesn't always cleanse, or remove, you just hope you can move on. Excellent poem.

I love how you explore me.... and my writing.
Thank you so much for for sharing your thoughts on this one, it's been awhile since I have read it.... Moving on is a hard lesson to learn. Growth usually does mean pain.... in the end, you're a better more empathetic and solidly built human being after, imo.
I'm glad you enjoyed, Leo.
Hopefully you'll get a chance to hear the newest....
