Outside
the rain beats a keyboard
of leaves, mingles as music
with summer dust and drought—
clears a corridor, preparing
for the Autumnal Equinox
When a storm passes
as it always does, we who remain
carry on, pick up the fallen
flotsam and jetsom of debri—
in whatever form
the whirlwind left behind
Everything is fresh, clean—
largely green amid change;
and, ready to carry on
with whatever Life brings
because, Poetry

Author's Note
Image, mine, storm we were caught in during a wildflower patch shoot, finally clearing. It was as atmospherically charged as it was frightening at the time. It made the BEST pictures in the comparison of before and after.

Uma, I am very grateful for many presences here—those of Love and Light, but most importantly, those who recognize Truth. Thank you always for supporting me, my calling, my charges, and my rest.
Much Love, my Dear, Dear Friend. xo

Thank you, Eerie. We must be willing to own our own shit too.
This is one of three fields I used to shoot at when a photographer. It came up in my memories, and triggered ( or, rather, completed ) a poem I had circling my thoughts during the storms last night and today ( literal and virtual ).
Nature is a healer, and the rain is still warm enough outside ( from the remnants of Tropical Depression Sally, I think ) that you can feel summer, but smell autumn.
Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you, Wally. Muchly appreciated. And, yes, the air is so much cleaner after a storm.

That life converses poetically in the dark and light of things, in our inhaling of its tests and how we expel its creative force should connect us all.
beautifully and honestly written.
beautiful photo too.

The storms where i am now must seem like April showers compared to yours. It is rare we have any.
When in Canada we had the most amazing storms, The first lightening storm i experienced there, it was like being hit by the Light of Damascus, just pure awe.
I do love photos of the sky and clouds. There are so many who can do it better than me. I love my woods and forests and trees,. When I get a better camera I will take some for sure.

We have some doozies here that rock the foundation of your house! They scared me to death when I first moved to the area from the midwest, but now I sleep right through them. From the looks of it, we had a pretty big one last night. I thought I heard the rain after a pre equinox Nidra yoga session that ended around 11:15 pm.
I think I was asleep by 11:16!

lol. in a way i am not surprised. If i feel safe, I think a storm can be the most amazingly sleep inducing ways to fall.

Re. Outside
I took some pictures just a couple of hours ago of the first rain here in 3+ months, with an amazing rainbow and sunset sky lighting both the rain and tree leaves just outside the conservatory window. Hope to write a poem to go with the pics; you've set the standard for me 🌈

This is beautiful, the imagery is astounding
It's raw, its honest, filled with pain, recovery and life
Very rich just beautiful.

Nothing i can say to match the usual epic string of loving comments you evoke.
Redundant to say "well-done", but there, i said it.

PS: Loverly contrast in photo....good show.

What a lovely notion. Who thinks up these wonderful metaphors? You do.

Dear A,
And what a storm it’s been. I totally admire your stalwart attitude throughout the poem. It’s really the best thing to do, just keep moving forward. But, sheesh! The picture is also quite captivating. It has ominous beauty from the sky and graceful beauty from the land. It’s really the perfect shot. You’ve weathered another storm. Lovely write.

The bigger the storm the calmer the aftermath, Honoria. Truth is like a deeply-rooted tree which can withstand the strongest of storms. It's the deceptive trees with shallow roots that get blown away.
Thank you for a lovely comment. That is one of my favorite fields still to this day. It's in bloom now but will only last a week or so before it's gone for another year.

This was absolutely beautiful. There is hope to be found in the aftermath of even the worst storms, when the earth smells new and life begin to find its way out of hiding again. I loved the steady, calming presence of your voice throughout; like a hand on the shoulder lending the wisdom of one who has weathered many such storms. Thank you for this 💜.

Thank you so much, Luna. If it's one thing I have weathered, it's a lifetime of storms. But, when you reach my age, it's a given if you've followed your intuition. My father always said you only meet the Devil head on by going the opposite direction he leads.
I am looking forward to a calmer, more peaceful, and less deceptive DU. One filled with poetry and not underhanded head-games.
Thank you, again, for your presence of light. 💜

This feels so refreshing and energising, with a strong finale that leaves space for development of chapters to come.

What an amazing picture, it looks like there are two ghosts in the sky, an incredible shot since clouds change so fast, its great to get outside, and it encourages poetry even in a fragment of time..
