The world is loveless, but I remember love; I seal it in a tiny box, place it on a shelf above. All the riots of my youth rage among immiment falls as ways of men I never knew fill my eyes as Hell resumes. All the strife my legs can carry will I only carry back home should home remember me after all my rage is gone.
Inspired by the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks, written for the 'We Real Cool' comp. Quote is from 'To Be In Love' https://www.poeticous.com/gwendolyn-brooks/my-dreams-my-works-must-wait-till-after-hell?filter=famous&lns=b
