A God’s Love (co-written with the gorgeous RJM)

Our Hero, Bacchus, arrives on this day
To the Greek isle Naxos eager to play
He travels by cheetah-drawn chariot
Laden with wines, toward a favoured spot
His satyrs and maenads thirst for some fun
Keen to frolic and dance beneath the sun

Our Heroine, Ariadne, kind and fair
Lays crestfallen with forlorn soul laid bare
Theseus’ betrayal left her feeling lost
Pain and sadness are her love’s great cost
Hark! What now creates this approaching sound?
A tumultuous party shakes the ground!

Wise old Silenus strides wrapped in serpents
With the red-cloaked Bacchus and his servants
Brawny half-goat males, muscular and strong
Joined by near-naked females slinking along
A mad orgy of free-spirited flesh
Where kindred bodies and minds freely mesh

The God spys Ariadne on the beach
And falls in love at first sight with this peach
Ariadne turns to see his sexy form
She is love-struck, caught up in passion’s storm
A proposal of marriage is quickly made
So that conjugal union isn’t delayed!

That evening the wine God performs a rite
Ariadne‘s wreath begins to glow bright
He sends it to the sky as a bold sign
Where it transforms to Corona divine
Forever watched over by the stars above
God and maiden kiss in ecstatic love
...
