shame

 
inside the aching time
there is no way out
I'm locked in with emotions
better off bled
 
my soul sits with them
demons of regret
the bitter kind  
who won't let me forget
 
I make a step forward
they are hot on my heels
pulling me back into the madness
 
I slip sideways within the pain
hating myself
so full of shame
 
I feel so afraid...
it shouldn't hurt this much to be human
but it does
 
it cuts to the core of who I am
I'm drowning in the lies
no one to save me
as I slip deeper inside the darkness
