Oyster: Dance Metaphor

In the city
Where anything
And everything
Could’ve been
Turned
Against you
As a weapon;
We were
Working
Hard
To Sharpen
Our own
Oyster
Knife.

(Detaching to survive)

(And I don’t know
What kind of animals
That made us
In some ways
More vicious
Behind
The closed studio doors
Than what
Was
Supplying the streets)
