I have to tell you
Promise the primates eternal life
watch them sacrifice their young to prove it
take the bamboo and beat them to death
the ones who've not been affirmed
climb down from the trees
look up to the sky
as the clouds surrounds the masses
pick one to send to the lightning
the storm has cleared
as the sun bursts into morning
leave the body to rot for our exposure
clinging to words made in bronze
waiting for a prophecy to be fulfilled
I have to tell you
I think I'll pass

Wounds not Seen
Wounds Not seen
The wounds no one sees
In a bunker shaking and shivering
Hear the blast that will change me forever
Wake up in a hospital coming out of a coma
I’m groggy but it’s becoming clear
That I am not the same person
Before I signed up for this
And I have kids and a dog
Out of the fog of war I realize I’m still here
But I’m half a person lost my shoulder and arm

Get my tennis shoes so I can run with you

Man on the Street
Swallowed whole like Jonah
I reside in the guts of this
Beast, I can feel the heat of
its heart beat.
I can see the distension
in trembling and quivering
insides as I move around
on my feet.
I walk beside choked arteries
and down various tubes,
hanging gardens somewhere above
but here just waste and ooze.
I find a quiet cavity
and curl up on some bony surface
to snooze
but I don't get much sleep.
I reside in the guts of this

The point of your sword
Rests gently against the hollow base
Of my throat
After an eternity of quarrel and defeat
Domination and submission
Sex and brutality
The cycle is everlasting
Yet somehow you have managed
To discover the heinous act
Of destroying your greatest friend
Your faithful lover
Your compassionate kin
Your worst enemy;
We have gone through all that we did
For a sadistic victory;
One that was never fought for, or won;
But stolen

before your runaway train of lies goes off a mountain side
At one time in the Presidential race you were ahead
But, now your campaign is on it's death bed

and Yelled "They're eating your pets"
The Moderators did a real time fact check
So, your next job will be to rearrange chairs of the Titanic's main deck ...
