Oleander Tea
I poured her oleander tea
Made certain it was sugar-free
She started once again to nag
Then ended with a wordless sag
I buried her body in the yard
Despite the fact the ground was hard
I could well see the deadly joke
Lit one more up, began to smoke
I could then hear a neighbor scream
A sure eyewitness, it would seem
I'm not a man inclined to run
No more hot tea, I've got my gun.
Made certain it was sugar-free
She started once again to nag
Then ended with a wordless sag
I buried her body in the yard
Despite the fact the ground was hard
I could well see the deadly joke
Lit one more up, began to smoke
I could then hear a neighbor scream
A sure eyewitness, it would seem
I'm not a man inclined to run
No more hot tea, I've got my gun.

Excellent and funny. Loved it. I don't know if everyone actually knows that oleander is a beautiful but deadly plant. Loved the close. J.

I'm hoping people realize its lethal properties. Thank you, J. And thanks for the RL inclusion!

I drink tea without sugar too... but I prefer Lipton or Sabah Tea. You got a good one there... :) Crowfly.

I drink English Breakfast Tea when I can't get coffee. It has that kick to it. Thanks Grace!

It occurred to me that this is like one of those old Alfred Hitchcock TV shows, probably before your time. So glad you enjoyed, and got the chills...

Ahh, the old Hitchcock shows and the original "Outer Limits" series.
Wonderful 30 min. journeys into the weird, wicked and wild side of the imagination. I enjoyed them immensely.

I love Oleanders because of their poisonous properties! Such a wonderful read for me! Rosary Pea is also harmless looking but deadly, so take care when using a strand of these beautiful seeds.

I'm careless about the exotic foods I eat, so thanks for the warning - and the praise - Bonzi.

Just stay clear of the oleander brew. Even Lipton's is superior. Thanks jadey!
