will likely have disintegrated
long before year 2217 arrives      
       
While the Parthenon dome      
and its sculptures persists      
what 21st Century Man creates      
barely survives      
       
As we make phenomenal strides
in information technology
bringing people together   
across the globe --- bridges   
and infrastructure continue
to crumble, destined to
tumble into ruination  
       
So much labor exerted      
raw materials squandered      
all in the name of preserving      
what this disposable civilization  
cares about these days:
