Melissa. Not Mom.

We are 678 miles apart
With broken families and hearts
We were all once babies
Cradled in mommy’s arms
Now things are different
Things got hard
Daddy yelled
And mommy left
We all cried
And then we left
Mommy took us
Dad is Jason
Mommy took us to Nevada Las Vegas
Grandma’s patience was almost none
Kids taught what was “more fun”
Grandpa’s sick
He’s almost gone
Once loved birds and all their songs
I learned of anime and fanfic
Grandma got more and more ticked
Grandma and grandpa moved up north
A man came with us
We were torn
Mom seemed fake
We all lost faith
No more church
No more fun
Cleaning and chores were only for us
Three little girls didn’t eat
Skinny hands and skinny feet
Steal some food
But don't get caught
 Me and mommy always fought
Sadie cries
And Jenna screams
Mommy got more and more mean
Sold our toys and locked the door
I can't live here anymore
I told mommy,
Her cold dark core
Depression settled even more
No more love
And no more sleep
Sadie weeps and weeps and weeps
Grades are slipping
So am I
Mom can't look me in the eye
I miss the stars and the bright full moon
Mom stays in her room till noon
Underweight
 There’s no more food
Just more and more chores to do
Mom would leave us late at night
She would drink while we would fight
I never did anything right
In december it was time
To pack up things and say goodbye
Hug my sisters watch them leave
Please tell Jason i said “Hi”
Slept on the on the mat one more time
She’s not my mom
Her name’s Melissa
Hug one more time
I’ll never miss ya
Merry christmas
She's all alone
Hearing her name makes me groan
“Keep in touch”
We’ll never talk
Jenna’s mad
And Sadie’s sad
But being here makes me glad
They’re stuck there
They can't come with
But a day will come
Dad will be dad and not Jason
