The plum pit in decantered wine
The soot on the mantle,
all along your heavy gothic lies,
you mixed thick and decantered, in
glass of Maias' lovely black eyes.
We made the arrangements,
and set them brotherly between the King
and a spaniel's smile. under curtain lace
and the last of Victoria's light she brings.
They paid the mill-wright lawfully, careful
to lay black feather of pig iron and lead.
A sunken blackbird, dead in cursing, wrought
and melting ore,
where flees the black angel from...

Open Arms
Uncle said he spoke with you and joked with you
That you were in great spirits these last few days
He said you didn’t suffer much or maybe not at all
But it sounds like you were in spiritual grace
Too much time and distance passed between us
Ever since those days at the old family farm
But all I can say is rest in peace grandmama
I’m sure dad welcomed you with open arms
That you were in great spirits these last few days
He said you didn’t suffer much or maybe not at all
But it sounds like you were in spiritual grace
Too much time and distance passed between us
Ever since those days at the old family farm
But all I can say is rest in peace grandmama
I’m sure dad welcomed you with open arms

three stories of me (and he)
(i)
my small feet atop his
teaching me to dance;
and finer things,
like Elvis's voice
and that love, beaming down
(ii)
"mud monster"
in the blackened basement;
me, clinging to his leg
as we hunted for my sisters—
"DADDY !?!!"
..i peed.
(iii)
you couldn't really talk
confused and afraid
i sat and sang
it...

Left with a heavy heart.
Growing up together was something ill never forget. Brother and sister forever. Things werent always perfect but no sibling rivalry is.so many laughs so many tears. U struggled to find a place in this world.u were a wild spirit no one could tame. But deep in my heart i feel somewhat too blame.i kept in contact as often as i could. Living on the streets isnt easy but that was ur world.im sorry i couldn't do more to help u But i tried to show u through it all u werent alone. Everyday u were in the back of my mind.when u were missing i always wondered why. Addiction had its fangs in u so deep...

A Christmas Alone (not memoir)
Yesterday when Max’s card came, I genuinely thought I was going to lose control of my emotions after three years of keeping them bottled up inside, safe where no one could access them. Tears blinded my vision and I wanted to scream and keep on screaming. I wanted to shove soil down my throat and choke on it or lie on the ground and shout like a nutter.
I hurried out to the store and purchased a bottle of whisky, nearly drinking it in one of the concrete shelters on the seafront for numbness sake, alone in the freezing cold with my memories of better things for company. But...

Pains of Addiction
I sit around looking at their blank faces.
Wondering if they realize the toll it’s taking.
When the drugs are in their veins, they see nothing else.
I wonder if they look in the mirror and see their self.
Do they see the blank stare with no emotions?
Do they see the tweaking and jerking motions?
Do they see a shell of what they were?
Or is that what they do the drugs for?
To drown their sorrows and take away the pain?
To forget their issues and problems of yesterday?
I try so hard for them to see the hurt in my heart. ...

Conditional love
That's what settles the fear
Deep in my gut
Here
Since you birthed me mother
Such hate exists
Deep in you
But it is I
The viper
The serpent
Who learned to live without love
Knowing it was to be snatched away
At the sign of any mistake
And if you truly believe
I am a bad person
Then look in the mirror
At her creator
That's what settles the fear

Trans
So many things in nature are in constant transition
And for some it’s a lengthy passage to transform
And if this needs to be transcribed with precision
Some of us transpire to be different from the norm
We’re born with inherent qualities and dispositions
Slowly transfiguring in body, soul, and mind
Translation: while some transport through religion
Others transmute spiritually in their own time
Many are ousted for their supposed transgressions
Because they have found peace through transparency
But those who are transfixed on...

Family Ties
Year after year,
Never any change,
Only now I’m old enough to see...
All the generational trauma,
Passed down from grandmomma,
Trying it’s best to seep into me.
Sins of the family,
Living on and never addressed...
Elders who honestly don’t deserve it
Always seem to demand respect...
Always thinking that old-fashioned is correct,
With outdated beliefs that can truly be toxic,
The family ties, ladies & gentlemen,
Ruining lives one generation after the next.
Because when no one can see...
And we all just continue...
Never any change,
Only now I’m old enough to see...
All the generational trauma,
Passed down from grandmomma,
Trying it’s best to seep into me.
Sins of the family,
Living on and never addressed...
Elders who honestly don’t deserve it

Dreams And Fallen Leaves
I sauntered in the old place
Looking about for that familiar
Thrice I had screamed
"I AM HERE,PLEASE DONT TEASE"
wind whistled through the old windows
Dust despair
filling this old soul
Drops from the cherry tree
pound the roof
Echoes of Her
reverberate
living proof
"Whatchya doing buddy,write anything new?"
"Sure did Mum,something for You"
Silent those strings
no
no songs heard here
Just my shuffle and the flowing tear
Still
the images
Remembering lineage
I am...
