The Devil's Assassin 1.1 - Good Things Happen To Good People

"The Devil's Assasion 1.1 - Good Things Happen To Good People"
By Marcus Cooke
Based on the "Devil's Assassin" Created by Tom Quinton

Before...

Lucy Costello stepped of the well worn greyhound bus
it had taken her 48 hours cross country
in that time she had fell asleep at least 9 times
waking up sat next to 10 different people
an 8 out of 10 times that person had tried to cop a feel
still it was worth it.

Her natural blonde hair
blows freely in the morning air
as a new world opens up in front of her eyes
here she would lay roots
get a steady job
then make her way to Hollywood
sending money to her folks back home
fate however had other plans.

Then...

A crimson cloaked figure
picks people and automobiles
hurling them through the air with ease
as if they were made from cardboard
One such automobile flies over head
resting in the body of the well groomed man
decapitating him above the waist instantly
the surrounding ground becomes painted in a crimson glare
she turns and screams as she catches sight of
the crimson cloaked figure remove the heads
of several town folk, there heads crushed
like watermelons, there eyes shot into the air
there body's drop to the ground
like paper bags, without mercy stepping on the
crumpled bones, ending in a agonizing "Crunch"

"Firing laser beams from his eyes
new targets he was trying to find
the pentagram in his chest burns yellow then red
almost half the town who were once
living are now dead"

A burning mass of pulp
burns in to the sand becoming glass
shattering as the devil's assassin tip toes closer
just behind the destroyed shop window
a figure cries out in agony
Lucy Costello runs in the direction of the screams
to find more dead body's
and a woman, her leg broken
unable to move and pregnant
most of the townsfolk
run in the opposite direction
concerned with there own safety
they become picked off on by one
by the devil's assassin's hellfire breath
which in turn created demons composed of flames
tearing at the townsfolk flesh, separating there body's
from there souls.
With one arm over her shoulder
Lucy manages to free the terrified
lady taking her in the opposite direction
moving as fast as she could from this mad motherfucker
with glowing eyes.

Now...

Lucy Costello was not sure what hit her?
one minute she was walking
with the pregnant woman
draped over her shoulder
the next she was on her ass
it was like a tornado
had hit her all to fast
she had chased tornadoes as a teenager
growing up in Indiana,
but this was something else
something evil,

She spy's a body lying just in front of her
the purple skirt the woman she just saved
was has turned to tatters
blowing aimlessly in the wind
all that remains was a pair of legs
each facing the wrong way
emanating from a bloody stump
she couldn't see the rest of her
she couldn't turn her head
and it was suddenly very hard to think
she catches a glimpse of the crimson typhoon
spinning past her
she see his face, twisted in a sinister smile
eyes glowing red, the pentagram
edged on his chest, burns a spectrum of hellfire
he turns to meet her gaze still smiling.

She tries to stand, to run but she cant
feel her legs or arms, she cant move her head
she cant hear, its as if they have been...
"no that impossible where are my........."

Later...

A hooded female figure
crouches on the sun kissed sand
of this once thriving town
there was much life here until recently
she muses
no trace of the devil assassin
a slight aurora but not much to go on
could be anywhere,
the figure walks for a while
coming to a pulp in the road
she turns to see a severed head
lying lopsided resting in a grove
of a manhole cover
flies buzzing round the decapitated
carcass of Lucy Costello
"pretty girl" she thinks
"Its a pity, bad things happen to good people"
