Love is not bruises and scars
I'm right here where you left me
Laying on this hardwood floor
Crying like a fool over you.
A little to late
For seeing the truth
Lying to myself
Until you said goodbye.
My mind knew you would
Someday leave me
Broken-hearted and confused.
I wanted to believe you loved me
Even after you turned my body black and blue
As I looked at the girl in the mirror
I had to face the truth.
If I begged you to stay
You would one day put me in an early grave.

Guide My Stumbling Feet
Lord guide my stumbling feet
And keep them on the path
Of honesty and truth.
Fill my heart with love
And help me to give it
As freely as you do.
Let my eyes see beyond the surface
To look for the good in everyone.
And please Lord if at times
I don't live up to your expectations

I Buried You Today
I buried you today
Now it's time to walk away
And leave this all behind.
A life that once held sunshine
Is black and full of hate
As I buried you today
I took everything you once gave me
And I put them in the grave
When I buried you today.
Every memory, every picture
Everything that was you
I put in a box and I buried
That box with you.
"Yes"

Dirty Floor
An unforeseen heartache
That cracks her very soul
She feels her shattered heart
Oozing from her pores.
What happened to the
Happy girl that once
Made her life whole.
Now she is empty a shell
Of what once was so pure.
The monster slowly bleeds her
Heart of love and hope
With each wicked word spoken.
Is he smiling at what she has become
His blackened soul satisfied at
Knowing he has won.
The monster looks down at her
With evil in his eyes
And he feels nothing
As she squeezed the trigger
One last...

Broken White Lines
We’re going down a road we have been down before.
I am seeing those old tell-tale signs.
This road we’re traveling is taking its toll
On our souls and our minds.
God chose us to be as one
But I let those demons have control
I’m to blame for the life we're living today.
We are drifting apart and it hurts my heart
It would be different if the road we’re on
Wasn’t full of broken white lines.
