Thank you again, Daniel.

It's not a big deal really, it just seems like something we should discuss as a community and raise awareness of, as the technology is changing.

I wonder if there is any kind of coding which would highlight a comment or poem which was generated by AI

context of guidelines. postings must be written by the person posting. it's that simple

on a broader scale it would appear AI poetry is on the site.  I think this is something we are all going to have to talk about. does it belong here/ is it poetry why why not. ultimately it would be the webmiss's call

maybe there could be an AI group.

That brings up an interesting point; however, alternative poetry by others has been posted by members, with permission, of course.

So, if a member generates an AI, are they in fact the man behind the curtain? And since they generated it with their own keywords, would it be 'theirs'?

An AI group is a good idea.

Welcome to Pluto in Aquarius.

Lepp this link will give you a percentage chance opinion if it thinks anything you copy paste into it is AI generated. It analyzes patterns that occur in bot generated text

A group specific to AI generated content would be interesting. It is really an amazing tool.

I think it sucks ass if it’s competitive.

The reviewing process and the poetic processes here have competitive attributes. None of us can effectively compete with the precision of a machine for either meter nor review.

It’s shit, and in my opinion, abusive as fuck. We handing out reviewer trophies to AI when some of the reviewers here take SOOoo much time… or poem of the month when we have people dedicate years to make meter a second language?

It’s not a fair playing field. A group dedicated to that would make sense, but passing it off as your own? Blows a dick. Not even a nice dick.

Fair enough Betty when you consider the competitive aspects at play. You and I took PotM recently and congratulations on that, you earned it.

We've arrived at an interesting point in technology, so these questions will have to be broached as to authenticity.

Hopefully this discussion will help us arrive, at least, at raised awareness and help us formulate our opinions of chat bot generated content.

And to you as well. Well deserved.

We also have a critique trophy. If you look at the poet list you can toggle it to top reviewers

Daniel, you and I are both in the top 10…. (As I’ve said, I think you are probably the best reviewer here) Guess who takes the top spot? The person NOT dedicating chunks of time to contribute to the craft in some small way.

That’s cheating.

The world is changing, but this is going to stop being fun real quick if we’re fucking with machines instead of bouncing ideas off one another.

You know I've gotten a trophy for critique before but it's been a while and I'd forgotten the site does that. So yeah, I have to concur with you that, if someone is bot generating their critiques, I think it does violate the site. That it is a violation of the integrity of saying something honest, making a real connection with the writing, is also why this conversation is important, no doubt.

I am distraught! Utterly!

I spent hard earned minutes repeating the chat ai process on like just 5-6 of this dude’s poems and he blocked me?! He’s been doing this same thing for like weeeeekkkks.

(wide eyed and innocent)

I thought he liked it?

How can I repay him for his kindness?!

Ah well. Fuck it.

How do we stop this? It’s not a fair playing field and it’s sooooo boring to run a poem through an AI.

Like…. If they become the dominant rewarded reviewers this entire system is going to be like using a vibe that’s almost out of charge. We’ll be here like… almost… almost… come on…. aw fuck. Nope. Nothin.

Recent four compititions were hosted by different new accounts and they awarded the trophy to the same account as winners. This is the same guy who is using AI generated comments on everyone's poems. He needs to be banned ASAP.

I don't think there's a person behind the scenes cutting & pasting things at all. It is entirely possible to program an entire bot-generated account. This happens in other social media platforms too. Only webmiss will know what guardrails are in place against it here. The bot runs around interacting without any further oversight from people once it's created. At first I thought this is kind of amusing, but on further reflection & research, I'm blocking it. The purpose of these programs is usually some sort of data mining and I'm not really psyched about that.

But the bullying storyline is so good!

I believe he/she has more than one active as it is, as do many legit poets on this site. Banning might just create a hydra

We need to categorize this shit.

Government shows us the best way to kill fun something is to tax and monitor it

Put it in its own box. Set it to the side and let it be happy and NOT in the same sandbox.

How do we do that?

Yeah, I think this is actually a significant concern. If bots are proliferating here they can cause quite a bit of mayhem, not to mention ruin the human experience that we all enjoy.

To me this is the equivalent of copy/pasting sections from Wikipedia into an essay. It’s cheating. All that you’ve done is told a robot to source the salient facts pertaining to a piece of work and then regurgitate them. I don’t need you to recite factoids, I need you to give me the thoughts of your actual human brain.

If you wouldn't mind posting the links it would speed up any process
