Love > Fear
And what, please tell me, is actually important?
A tangible task would make me
much
more
comfortable.
Is it
to know the names of the birds on my morning walk,
notice the springing up of crocuses
(purple hope in a season of mud)
and to rejoice in the sunrise on my face?
After all,
I am an insignificant speck –
surely this is all that can be expected of me
as I drift, unattached,
through my brief moment in the universe.

He said:
Everything is a cult
and I shall start my own cult.
I knew he knew,
the manipulation necessary
To be a true
Cult leader of the many,
Seeing the fractured personality
of his future members
As he stoked the embers
and brought them under his authority.
but why?
I wondered
to myself,
because
far be it for me to deny
Someone somewhere,
anywhere -
their
desire to get higher & take it there.

PLEASE, NO MORE GAMES
REALITY
When we were kids
it was natural, part
of growing up to
play games. We
were shy and fearful
to explore the forbidden.
BUT
now as mature adults,
age-wise, it's time
to stop playing games
unless we agree to
being game players.
WE BOTH know what
we want but we
tease, play games,
divert to another subject.
Our loins say yes but
our coyness says no.
WE ache and imagine
how it would be if
we dared to come out
and say YES, YES, oh YES!

Monkey dresses,
Disposed hungry,
Owing senses.
Ignorance feeds,
Token standing,
Equal balance,
Showmen planning.
Under event,
Intent covers,
Science answers,
Mortal lovers.
Nature's expanse,
Clayman risen,
Without fathers,

Mouse in my attic
I have a mouse living in my attic
She crawled all night making static
Got someone who is a mice terminatic
He said “you have two lovers living in your attic”
Now that is definitely very problematic
Although he didn’t sound very dramatic
I also don’t want to be melodramatic
But they shouldn’t be living in my attic
“They should die” and I wasn’t very diplomatic
I’m also a guy who is not very romantic
No one should be living in my attic
Not love, nor anyone who is the least sympathetic

A Toast To Time And Self Empowering

misunderstood? maybe
or maybe I just see things differently
try to find the places
where things are left unsaid
you offer honesty? vulnerability?
I’ll take them for what they are
without expectin more or less
but I don’t deal in prayers
or wait for numbers to be called
death doesn’t ride for me
I ride beside him
I’ve walked a broken path
with stained hands
buried my sins in ways
I’d rather forget

but my past claws at my heels
if the spirits whisper my name ...

Life with colon cancer stage 3
After my mother passed away from colon cancer at the age of seventy-two.
One day had a bowel movement, saw blood in the stool, and called my doctor.
She ordered a colonoscopy they found twelve polyps and removed and ran a test and found that I had stage 3 which scared the fuck out of me thinking back to my mother passing from the same type at the age of seventy-two.
When in the hospital my surgeon came in and told me it hit the limp nodes at that time sure wish I could see my face well Doctor am I going to die had to be...

We were thrown together
Working a temp job we were both overqualified for.
He, a recent college grad soon to begin a master's
And me, who had gotten my bachelor's
somewhere around the time his parents were in kindergarten.
We talked about everything
Movies
Music
Politics
What the future of the world might hold
What America would be like in fifty years
Even ten.
It turned depressing from there.
