No Land Mines
I want to go where the war is over
Where people have gone back to their lives
The ones's fought are remembered by statues
So the same mistake won't be brought back to life.
I want to go where war exists only in museums
People reduced to their names
As if being a victim is an accomplishment.
I want to go where laughter echos louder than bombs
Where children play on safe grounds
Where promises made have seen daylight
Where peace has sinked in through generations.
I hope I get there, I hope we all do
Being born into this sordid chaos
Must not be our final cross.
Where people have gone back to their lives
The ones's fought are remembered by statues
So the same mistake won't be brought back to life.
I want to go where war exists only in museums
People reduced to their names
As if being a victim is an accomplishment.
I want to go where laughter echos louder than bombs
Where children play on safe grounds
Where promises made have seen daylight
Where peace has sinked in through generations.
I hope I get there, I hope we all do
Being born into this sordid chaos
Must not be our final cross.
