The Early Bird (No Worms Involved!)

Twas one week
Before Christmas
When my daughter gave birth
He arrived three weeks early
And created much mirth
He was born in a stripey t-shirt
And a smile upon his face
As he escaped his womb with a view
At rather a rapid pace
His mother, my daughter
A beauty
Beyond all in any compare
Okay i realise humbly
I'm slightly biased
But we all, have been there!
So forward they march
Until Christmas
With little socks upon the tree
Mother, will be mothering
And little baby, glad to be free
But i'm unlikely to take up knitting
I'll leave that to those that can
I'll just sit, and cackle quietly
And be a slightly eccentric nan
Available for anyone interested
That wants to 'grab-a-gran!'
I know this is not my best poem
But ive been awake, half the night
I dared to glance into a mirror
It gave me such a fright
So now baby has landed
Upon this festive earth
But 3:30am in the morning
Seems way to early, for giving birth!
