To be completely honest, most of the really sexy dreams are daydreams. The potential for sensual fantasies that sometimes come from nightly sleeping are fractured and normally scattered all over the place; most times not making much sense unless I wake up in the middle of said dream

'floral bouquet, creates pure ambrosia' - in the spirit of the idea that less is more - i found the word 'creates' distracting from the great idea you are delivering in the mixture of pheromones creating a bouquet...but i didnt need you to tell me that, know what i mean? 'floral bouquet, pure ambrosia' - maybe i am too influenced by beat poets but i thought id mention it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, read and especially for leaving your thoughts with me - that- is where I just love to borrow into and bask for a little bit.. Especially on a very rare cool day like today is on my end.
Probably only one of a handful...

I feel like you're drawn to the intimacy of a proven and known shared emotional connection- an established relationship and those awesome things couples share in their loving, intimate moments, which is truly beautiful. That 'pillow talk of the souls' is really endearing to read and I wish that I do hold out hope for, for myself to be able to experience again one day. Yet sadly, a lot of people are not fortunate enough to have a current significant other where such depths of dreamlike interdimensional threads like you've described, could or would be reached... Sex, lust and my fantasy dreams of sensuality and the intensity or lack thereof of emotional interaction; how and where I enjoy it, are easier for me to wrap my head around, hence easier to write. It's that longing of what I don't have, the parts that I really miss the most and that I usually tap into to from my pen. The little moments that really make up a good healthy relationship, I don't have reference for anymore... I know it's missing....It reminds me though....
Finding someone my age or older to share in my particular 'interests' has proven next to impossible. What's that fucking years and years old awful statistic?? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ummm ... I think it was rampant in the 80's or 90's, where it said statistically women over 40 are more likely to get killed by a terrorist than to end up happy in a committed relationship or married!?!?... haha... I wonder how that's held up....

It may be that it's like Dr. Who's tardis, a dimensional issue rather than a numbers issue. The right person at the right time happens when it happens.

When we are ready to engage correctly, the jig saw pieces fall into place. It would be a critical error to meet the right person at the wrong time and not recognize them because we're not ready....cruel irony!

This is why looking inwardly and being that counter part is the objective...to be ready.  Being completely ourselves, saturated with self-comfort as we are to require the least of others.

If you're always searching for him, looking directly in every face, how could he lust after you...? Be busy being yourself. Be about your soul's work. Step off the elevator with a spring in your step. Be about your craft. Enjoy the journey.

Being emotionally available with a surplus of creative indulgence, you'll look up and find yourself right where you need to be.

Women never get too old.  It's their self-image that gets tired. Hepburn, Fonda, Welch, Bacall....Turner....really? It's about style, grace, self-respect.....don't ever think you ain't got it.  40-something is just getting started. 54 is the new 34. Anyone can be a kitten when they're young....it takes a woman who knows herself to really be a Kat.

I agree with all you've written, RT. I know it's not completely futile, finding someone if I really want to put the effort in. I've just lost the desire and have become comfortable, albeit at times lonely, with my decision to be alone.... for now. I think there's a big difference in being lonely vs being alone.

Covid hasn't made conditions any easier, either.

I have a full busy life. So it's not a huge feeling of sacrifice that I feel. When and if I do decide to be proactive, I know myself enough to not settle and to just be myself. It's a definite feature and not a bug....

OK, I had this thought after reading your poem.

I remember when I started learning poetry in school, I bloody well hated it, this would have been a long long time ago, back around 1970 maybe, I was 7 then, anyway, back in the stone age time.

We had this poetry book, all Irish poets.

The point I'm trying to figure out is that your poem deserves to be published.
Probably not in the same book as I had I think, :)
