it's a sort of welcome home...
finding a way
across fields
of burning bridges
that span a sea of gold
to leave this
hollow place
and chase,
chase away
a sense of something in someone
surrendered sanctuary
driving darkness
to the edges of night
allowing trust to foment
in absolute
submittal in shared moments
otherworldly, seems these lyrics sprung
in a coming home
of song
sung,
to break away
in freedom
only binded into ornaments
of choices
in all that's recognized
as sterling
two of unsorted
dislocated
in separated
conjoined their divided
a known suffering—
oh that sweet dark suffering
how uniquely
their pain's tendrils extend
to caress and cradle
each other
in sheer sublimity
upon that cherished bosom
blowing upon distances
of lush landscapes
to let it go....
of life
and time
for sharing minds
to face
and two fade away...

It's an ache, but I also felt a tingle of hope as well...
"two fade away" is hopeful... they make it, in the end!!!... lol... Yes, cryptic but, eh?!? I was listening to some good music and this is where my mind took me... haha.. I thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, I adore where you went, to. 'lovely, sad and beautiful'.. YES! I'll definitely take that, every day. ;) I appreciate your list add - it's generous and not taken lightly.
Much love and good wishes from across the pond

To fade away. To become less than a ghost. Entwined within the great vastness of oblivion.

Dearest, Lady Blue,
What a magnificently beautiful this when souls find kindred souls and are unified in comfortable harmony. You capture that so well in this piece.
The opening stanza could be taight as a college course on navigating adversity to find true acceptance and unconditional love..."fields of burning bridges" is brilliant❣❣
This passage fills me up with thoughts of pure joy,
"their pain's tendrils extend
to caress and cradle
each other
in sheer sublimity "
Bravissima Goddess BB🌹🙏

Magnificent! The reality of nature in all it splendor is contrasted in the end with the illusion of a long-distance relationship that seems so passionate and is but fades into the night where the kaleidoscope becomes monochrome. What wonders you have conjured in this poem. I feel the invigoration of chat rooms of wonder and phone calls that sound so real. You have created a poetic masterpiece here.

Ohh John, your thoughts and insights are so very lovely to read and treasure. To find that symbiosis with someone else is a dream within a longing... I don't even know that I'm writing about it anymore because it's become second nature - that want. I guess. I felt like that ending was hopeful. "two fade away... as one... which is left unsaid...
I appreciate you reading, the list add and your loveliness all around.

Re. it's a sort of welcome home...
I love music. Me and my wife actually met because we were both fans of Eminem. We belonged to a site for fans. This was many years when dial up was a thing haha. For a few years we were long distance.
Beautifully written.

I was so very lucky to see them live in '85 (I thought it was 87 but that was Joshua Tree tour, I'm pretty sure) I was about 12 or 13 and my sister took me.... A sort of a homecoming and and “40“ have been part of my psyche ever since... Omg.... lol.
