Location Location Location

I live in England... what is this sun of which you speak? I think I saw it once in 1998 but I cannot confirm or deny. My skin is currently 50 shades of Pillsbury Doughboy, but at least I can earn extra money by doubling as a reflective road sign at the weekends 😂

That aside, I do love these little poems about exactly where we are. They give so much insight to the writer, and maybe I’m just nosey and wonder where people are in the world.

Anyway you can keep your humidity. Thanks but no thanks. 👍🏻

You so accurately and cleverly describe your TX surroundings! (I've visited before and FL is close enough to empathize!) that I was reading and almost sayin' "yep, exactly!", every line. I loathe the humidity, too. It's soul crushing, it is and totally day ruining, with bad hair, runny makeup or just leaving me sweating like I'm on the surface of the sun, kind of ruining!! haha 😂.. So I do get it! Our states both are prone to issues exasperated by climate change with Governors who could give a shit, so I'm so there with you, my dear!! This piece left me thinking that I need to be more active in state politics.. lol.. to ensure FL residents have some sort of say in environmental issues via climate change, because it's clear our state government could care less.

Great thought provoking poem and a wonderful addition to your NaPo 30!

The only perfect climate I've ever witnessed was Hawaii. So perfect.

I used to think that going to Hawaii was too touristy, commercial and caters to people my parent's age...who, at the time they visited Hawaii, were in their late 30's 😁 Now I would seriously enjoy the experience now that I know more of the state and its breathtaking vistas.

I heard of the tragic car crash in TX when the snow came. It sounded horrific. Climate is certainly changing. I live in the U.K. and flooding is getting worse every year. I think you expressed the Texas changes really well here. We don’t always take notice what’s changing around us. But you have observed and took stock. It shines in this piece

I agree Gwen, what happened here was tragic for so many. I can't help but be observant here because these storms still scattered me. I will now be more observant of what is occurring there in the UK...there are more than a few that I care about there.

i love this spill because while remembering my stint (USAF) in San Antonio and Witchita Falls
this spill caused me to laugh!!
i was in Texas during the god-awful summer months (joined the service:  07/07/77)  & no way i ever wanted to be there again.  (now look at me - am in southern AZ but without the humidity)

My former brother-in-law did a stint in San Antonio while serving in the USAF and I have a lot of friends that are relocating to fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk Arizona.
I am a Northern Californian and I too will not return if we ever leave...it's still so damn cheap to live here.

When my family moved back to CA after my elementary school yrs in HI, we moved to the SF Bay Area (Daly City).  
& Summers i worked on a ranch in Upper Lake, CA.
