Image for the poem once upon a blistering truth.

once upon a blistering truth.

looking for shells;
the beach was blistering cold
wind battered my resilience

I took that perfect picture;
we framed it
accenting our space-
our love, just right

one look,
and I was always
right back there
watching you ahead of me
thinking to myself

this moment defines

wishing I also had a picture
of the moment
right after,

as you turned,
smiled brilliant,
just before kissing me
so earnest...

it's there I felt
a hard gust blow,
scattering
our bits that remained

suddenly,
all I could feel

was truth.
