Walled In

The child in charge must have his wall
Will do damn near anything
Shut down our shaky government
To prevent an influx of the poor and tired

He claims they have smallpox and leprosy
Two illnesses that are now long gone
More scare tactics, more hot air
What next? The bubonic plague?

True, drug dealers are involved
But they seem like a small percent
The traffickers are using "mules"
And not the drifting innocents

And there's that perceived threat to jobs
Employment at the lowest pay
The immigrants take what they can
Not much complainers choose to touch

Still, the child wants his wall
And five billion seems to be the price
He may or may not get his way
But may prevail, and some will pray.
