It Is, the Nature of Things

I am often amazed at the clarity that comes to mind
after a sleep of more than four hours even when it is
broken up into halves.

From an entirely logical standpoint, pining over an
Internet love can only lead to an uncomfortable
Truth where words –
though captivating, heartfelt
Sensual, and even erotic are just that –
words.

No commitment can be adhered to once both
Are no longer online on the same sites.
And to what end, would something like a long-
Distance love affair result in?

More often than not, it prevents both involved
From developing a healthy relationship in real
Life.

And so, it is the nature of things for my heart to
Move on.

I will still fall madly in love each time she reads me
Comments or even when we share a chat or two.
But I see no reason to get all infatuated & crazy
Over someone who I may never ever get to
Consummate the intimate friendship with  -
Providing she felt the same.

And so, I am OK with this.  
Sleep has a way of slapping
Me
into an intelligent waking consciousness.

Just another example of the nature of things,
I think.
