I'm not like him

I’m not like him, you see
Nor will I ever be
I’m not some Casanova
Plying you with his lust
I’m always straight over
When your heart is bust

I’m not like him, you can tell
To be him would be hell
He may have you in his bed
To do with as he may please
But I have been inside your head
And seen what your heart sees

I’m not like him, you know
I wouldn’t lay the lies he’d sow
He’s the one who knocks you down
With his harsh words and grating sound
But I will always be your clown
You’re never sad when I’m around

I’m not like him, it is true
I’d never try to deceive you
He’s big and bulky, a real man
But he tells you what to think
Of that I could never be a fan
I’m not just after what is pink

I’m not like him, perhaps that’s why
There will never be a you and I
I love you too much to make you cry
You seem happy to just be used
I see your tears and I could die
With me you would never be abused.

I think that is what truly scares you.
Knowing that someone truly cares for you.
