I imagine a wilderness when I read this poem, poetryman. Whistling winds and cold evenings, and fading pale sunset over the mountains. whooo... desolate.

Thanks Grace, It feels good to have invoked such images in your mind. I decided to post this poem now, as the Fall is just about to hit in a few days and the weather has already begun to feel like Fall. I already can't wait for Spring, but you'd think I be used to it after all these years. Lived in California one year and it felt weird not having a real Fall and Winter. My bones are tired of the cold though, I would move back there is I could afford it.
Soothing!

Poetryman, I just read your profile and read this poem. You seem like a very well-balanced individual. You remind me of my stepfather. I am happy to have you as a friend.
Fuck the bullshit, right? One of my mottos in life is honesty is the best policy. Unfortunately, it often gets me in trouble with people. It's very difficult to have the need to to express one's self and still maintain friendships. That's why this site is awesome, right?

Thank you for commenting Vishal. There is a bit of sadness that falls with each leaf, knowing the cold of winter is on its way. But only for a few months will the ice and snow cover mother nature before life springs anew... JJ

Nice. I love the fiery color of Fall, probably for me second only to the burgeoning green of Spring. Been enjoyin' me some leaves lately. Kinda looking forward to some cooler air. Good weather for running, it is! I like the play on the word 'leaves' at the end of this piece. Great writing, sir.

Thanks for the comment, glad you liked it! 2 comments on an old poem in two days, people must be searching for fall themes. You might also like another Fall themed poem i wrote a number of years ago called "Sleep (hiding from the touch of Death)".
