Image for the poem behold the stars they shine

behold the stars they shine

the stars bore witness
to my grief

in hushed tones
they spoke to me

said child
we are here
walking among you

pulsing our light
into your mind
that you may
find your way

a dark path lies ahead
we shall guide your steps
that you not stumble and fall

I was beheld in the heavens
found imperfect
though ever so lovely

my steps are carefully marked
the fates themselves
carry me wave after wave

so you will know my soul
as it was intended to be

nothing special about my flesh
except the stars that shine
through my being
