One Way to Escape
Free within the guillotine
Open gates to blades
The sleepless bleak scenes
As another one of a million days
Unborn, Forsaken, unforeseen
As dreams drempt awake await
The final fading light at evening
Direct their attention far away
For scars implode little eyes
Taught from birth never to say
Those prickly little thoughts---
Briars of nefarious ways
Fetus of wild wonder implored
To grow into singing smiles
Once allured to cure and adore
Now are as my stumbling soul
My drunken words wax sore
The red sky of my gigantic ego
Drips its crimson 'cross the floor
I lay long forgotten in my lightless abode
Softly decaying in my fragmented memorial
I melt with insects into the dull grey road.
